This was the honest truth. At least most of it.

I only had one best friend through my life, and her name was Kat - short for Katerina. We both had problems, which I guess was why we were friends for so long. Her parents divorced, and my family completely wrecked. My parents divorced when I was thirteen, and my brother was nineteen when he took me in. I guess I just didn't want to deal with all the arguing and hopping between parents every weekend. Nobody really wanted to and if they said they did, they were definitely lying.

The day my dad was sentenced to five years in prison for a put off hit and run case he was completely innocent in, I remember that all I did that day was pray and cry. Of course this was after the divorce, and I was fifteen, but it still hurt knowing that everyone at my new school was going to know that I was the girl with the "criminal" dad.

I woke up expecting to be tired, but to my surprise I wasn't. It was my first day in high school. Not only this, but I knew no one. Absolutely no one. And I know what your thinking,"Where's Kat?" I had to move away from Kat in the seventh grade because I moved from northern California, to southern California.

I lived in the general Long Beach area, while my brother attended UCLA to get his degree to become a teacher. I got dressed quickly in a white tee shirt, light wash jeans, and Chuck Taylors, whilst putting my wavy and long blonde hair up into a slick ponytail. I applied some light makeup, I grabbed my navy blue backpack, and my ear buds with my phone.
