As I started to reach the wraparound railing that trapped us from the perimeter of the roof, I slowed down, but not enough.
I stretched out my arms to help me stop, but the moment my hands hit the rusty railing, it snapped, and I fell. I felt something cold hit my back, and head and everything went black.
