"Run," a voice growls out almost dangerously that i dare not disobey. Dashing through the forest as fast as i can, the only things i see are blurry images of my surroundings. I can almost feel the adrenaline pumping in my veins that are threatening to burst from pressure. Breathe. Focus V, you need to get out of here. He's coming. But wait.. who is "He"? And why am i running?
Somewhere in the distance a familiar song is played.
"Wake up in the morning with the sunlight in my eyes, though my head don't feel so bright what the hell happened last night." I wake up in a sweat, panting as i try to make sense of what i just saw. The alarm clock says it's 7:20am! Oh God, we're late to school!
"AIDEN! AIDEN COME ON, GET UP! WE HAVE TO GET TO SCHOOL! LIKE RIGHT NOW" I say as i shake him and rush to the bathroom as soon as i see the alarmed and anxious look on his face. We get ready real quick, not having time for breakfast, and get into the car after locking the house.
"Viennnaaa! Why do i always have to drive?" A nags dramatically. I roll my eyes at him.
"Because you know i can't drive, especially after what happened.." i shuddered at the memory.
"Oh crap, sorry love i know," he looks guiltily at me. "Okay hop in little monkey, we can't be late for the first day of our senior yeaaaar," he sings. What a goofball. I look out the window and my mind automatically starts replaying old memories.
A violent shake snaps me back to reality.
"VIENNAA, yo where's your mind at? I brought your coffee and been trying to get your attention for ten minutes now," Aiden scalds me. I didn't even notice that the car has stopped.
"Hey, are you okay love? You look like you've seen a ghost," he half smiles almost as if he knew what i'm thinking of.
"Yeah, i'm okay. I just remembered that day again. It's fine, i'm fine," i say. The truth is, i never was able to forget that day.
No. I won't cry. Not now. Just keep breathing Vienna. We're okay.
Suddenly, i'm enveloped in a hug by my sweet best friend. "I'm here V, you're going to be okay," man, did he have to be so perfect? He's making me tear up again. Deep breaths.
"I'm okay, thank you A. Now let's get going or we'll be late for the first class of the last year in hell," i say in a cheerful voice to cut the tension that's starting to build up in here. And it works! A throws his head back and laughs as he starts the car again, turns the music on at a high volume and we head to school, singing, horribly might i add, along to the radio.
We reach the school's parking lot and try to find a good spot. We finally find a good one right in front of a fancy Camaro that seemed awfully familiar. As Aiden is backing up to park, he hits another car's side leaving an obvious dent in it. Shit, we're in trouble. We look at each other then directly get out of the car and make a run for it.
"Hey! Did you hear about the two new guys? They're sooo hot omg," one of the gossipy girls says to another.
"Oh yes! I've seen them! The one with green eyes and curly brown hair is unreal! Oh God, i'm definitely going to be watching out for him!"
Oh perfect. I look at Aiden and we simultaneously roll our eyes at how superficial they sounded. As we're heading to the office to get our schedules, someone bumps into my shoulder forcefully and keeps walking down the hallway.
"Hey! You could have apologized jerk!" I shout at his retreating figure.
Green eyes meet mine, a lazy smirk appears on his pale face as he lifts his hands in mock surrender, "Sorry little miss sunshine," salutes then continues his way to a nearby class. My face scrunches up as i start to think of reasons why he looks so familiar, but alas, i couldn't find any.
"Well, that was weird," Aiden says.
"Tell me about it," i roll my eyes, shrugging it off as we continue to the office.
Luckily, me and Aiden had most of our classes together, but while he's taking photography, i'm taking music. At least we share the rest of our classes so that's good!
We rush to AP English, probably my favourite subject, and find two seats in the back. Unfortunately, hallway new guy was sat in the seat in front of mine. He turned and winked at me, then faced forward again. Rolling my eyes at his weird behaviour, i catch sight of Jayden from across the room. He smiles and waves at me so I'm forced to acknowledge him with a wave back.
Aiden next to me gasps, so i look at him to see what's up only to find his attention is focused on something at the front of the class. I face forward only to see a devilishly handsome guy walk in. Woah, the girls weren't kidding when they said the new guys are absolutely hot. His icey light blue eyes scan the room for a place to sit, his gaze falls on me and the guy in front of me and he glares at us.
Oddly enough, when his eyes land on Aiden, they shine with a glint of amusement as he trudges forward and plops in the seat right in front of a deep in thought best friend of mine.
I nudge A, snapping him out of his mind and back to reality. "You know him?" I whisper.
His eyebrows furrow as he ponders. "No, but i feel like i should." This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder.
Fortunately, the first three classes pass by pretty fast so by the time lunchtime rolls in, my stomach rumbles in anticipation. Finally! Food, my one true love. I sigh audibly as a smile takes over my lips, which makes Aiden chuckle.
"You weirdo," he ruffles my hair, then throws his arm around me as we make our way to the boisterous cafeteria. We get our food quickly and find a good place to sit and enjoy the gift of the gods. As we start eating our food, the cafeteria suddenly goes quiet. Lo and behold, blue eyed new guy walks in, his eyes dead set on our table as he charges forward with a lazy smile on his lips. Oh no, something's not right.
"I know you guys did it," he says smugly as he plops down in front of us.
"Did what?" I ask confused. Aiden looks shocked and slightly pale.
"You are the reason behind that little dent in my car aren't you?" He asks rhetorically, eyes focused on Aiden who's few seconds away from passing out. Shit, he's on to us! I pass my juice bottle to A and he sips a little bit of it. Sensing my eyes on him, he nods almost as if to say that he's okay.
"I don't know what you're talking about um whatever your name is," he flicks his hand in the guy's direction so nonchalantly causing the mysterious guy's eyebrows to shoot up as he looks at us almost as if he's amused. Sorry what?
"I know it was you, no need to deny it. Don't worry, it's fine," he smirks. Ha. Typical. Bad boys' signature move. Insert eye roll. "It's Liam by the way, Liam Bateman." He salutes and turns around, leaving us, and the rest of the students, flabbergasted.
"He knows," i state still dumbfounded. I thought no one noticed! How did he know?
"Liam Bateman, hmm mysterious. We'll get to the bottom of this eventually," Aiden says still looking at the cafeteria doors with a pensive look on his face. Mysterious indeed.

School comes to an end and we soon find ourselves heading home. Too tired to even turn on the radio, we drive in silence. Suddenly, i get a text from mum, which is odd because i haven't heard from her in so long.
