Sam's POV
I stood there in my room, dumbfounded.. Was all this for me..? I looked straight into Josh's eyes and immediately saw a glimmer that I have never noticed before. I finally broke the silence and said, "So, looks like the bad boy had a soft spot." He chuckled, "Sam.."
Buzz.. And Problem by Ariana Grande started playing from my phone, signaling that Maggie was calling me. I mouthed sorry to Josh, he nodded understandingly, so I took the call.
"Hey Girly, what's up?" I said happily to her.
"Can you come over to my room?"
I heard sadness in her voice, "are you okay?"
"I think Jake just cheated on me.."
" I'm coming." That's all I needed to hear before I was already getting my stuff to bring over. I turned back to Josh who was now only 3 feet away and said, "Josh, Maggie thinks that Jake cheated on her and she's pretty upset so I'm gonna go talk to her. But could you come, or maybe tell Miles and come over with him too. And then when we are done over there I would like to finish talking to you."
"Won't it be too late?"
"No, because I kind of owe it to you" I said while I scanned my room again and looked back to a smiling Josh.
"Okay. You go to Maggie's room and I'll get Miles and bring him over as soon as I can."
Then we both left my room, but then I turned to Josh before he could round the corner and I said, "Josh..!"
He turned around. "thank you." I said
"What for..?"
"I don't know.. Everything..?" I said smiling before entering Maggie's room.
I poked my head in and scanned the room for her. I saw her laying face down on her couch watching The Notebook.
"Maggie."
Her head popped up and she had her mascara smeared across her eyes and part of her cheek. I walked over and sat down, she sat up so I could sit by her. I faced her and asked,"so, what do you mean that you think Jake cheated in you?"
"I was at his baseball game and when it was over, he walked up to another girl and he kissed her. I don't think he saw me. So he doesn't know that I know."
Anger was boiling up inside of me. Did I just not tell that boy earlier today that he better not cheat on my best friend or I was going to kill him. Gosh. He's SOO stupid. "Who was she..? Well that doesn't really matter anyway.. So what did you do.?"
"I didn't know what to do, so I just went the other direction and came straight back here." She said I between sobs.
After I just let her cry for a solid 5 minutes, I softly said,"Mags, if he can't see you for the beautiful, and AMAZING girl you are, then he's not worth it." She looked at me through her teary eyes and gave me the best smile she could under the circumstances.
"So, Josh is getting Miles and they just left their dorm." I said looking up from my phone.
She only nodded. "So Mags, I brought you some stuff that will hopefully make this less miserable." I went to my bag,"Here's your favorite movie..RV." She smiled, it's a HIlARIOUS movie. .."and.." I said returning to my bag,"I brought Mean Girls, and Nutella, and pop." She actually genuinely smiled.."thank you SOO much Sam, it really means a lot."
I said,"of course,... And do I have permission to beat Jake up.?"
She laughed and nodded. I said,"good, because I was going to anyway." KNOCK KNOCK.
I hopped up and grabbed the door. Miles was right in my face and. Asked what was wrong. I motioned him to go talk to Maggie. He went past me, and Josh was standing there. Awh, he is so attractive with his brown hair curly, beautiful green eyes, and.. Stop it!!
Josh's POV
Gosh Sam is absolutely gorgeous. Her amazing blue eyes, and her laugh can literally just melt me. I was pulled out of my thought when Miles called both of us over, I turned and closed the door and walked over to the couch. Miles asked Sam,"so Jake cheated.?" She nodded, and added looking over to Maggie,"He's a jerk. I told him never to hurt you or I was going to kill him.." We all chuckled. I love that about Sam too. "Josh.." "Yeah." I said confused. Miles asked me if I wanted to do anything because Maggie wants to be left alone for a while. "Um.. Sorry man, I can't I already made plans, but I will see you tomorrow morning at breakfast.?" "Yeah, see ya." And Miles walked out after giving his sister a hug. I looked to Sam, she said, "I'll be out in just a sec." I nodded and waited outside in the hall.
Sam's POV
"I'll see you tomorrow Maggie. Want to come to breakfast or no.?"
"I will, he can't make me feel down"
"Awesome!! That's the way to feel" I said smiling. "But I'm still going to kill him."
She chuckled again,"so what's with you and Josh..? Are you the one he has plans with?"
"Yeah, we are going to talk in my room for a while." She had a sky smile on, but then quickly blurted out.. "Oh yeah, and your brother and my brother both have dates for tonight, but you still need to approve."
"Oh okay.. I will. See ya tomorrow." And I walked out and there was Josh. I was smiling like a crazy person inside. What am I doing..? I just went on a date with Ryan. I don't know..
We walked back into my room and we sat on my couch and Josh turned towards me. I saw another, the same glimmer in his eyes before in the candle light. It was really sweet of him to do this. He cleared his throat and said,"So you kind of asked earlier if I had a soft spot, and I do, but never show it.. Only you have really brought it out in me."
