"Really?" He looks surprised himself. He's making the most adorable face. It looks like he's trying not to smile and if he does he'll die, but he can't help it.

"Just please get inside" I try not to smile myself.

I wake up from my phone ringing. I don't want to wake up but whoever this is wont stop calling me. I hit decline not even bothering to check who it is. Not even a second later they call again. I'm going to kill someone.

I use my arms to push myself up and sleepily grab my phone. 5 missed calls from 💜. Oh Hayden. I call him back and even before I could hear the first ring I hear his joyful voice. "Hey Annie! Watcha doin today? If your free we could go watch a movie or go to-" how do I let him down gently? "Or we could go down to the bea-" "Hayden!" "Yeah? Hello?"

"Hayden I said I forgive you. That doesn't mean we're going back to the way it was." I say. So much for gently. "Annie, I know. But maybe we could go back to being friends, I just really miss you." "Hayden I'm not even sure we could if we wanted to." "Well I want to, please tell me you'll give us a chance." I'm about to yell at him to put him in his place when he quickly adds "AS FRIENDS, give our friendship a chance" wow he convinced me. "Fine pick me up in 30 minutes" I say giving up. "30 minutes?" "Hayden, you woke me up, let me get ready for the day." "See you in 30 minutes anns." He said softly.

I collapse back on my bed looking up at my ceiling thinking of what I just got into.

I didn't know what to choose because we really never specified where we were going, but I ended up just wearing jeans and a floral blouse. I spray on some perfume and hear the doorbell. I rush downstairs suddenly feeling nervous. Nervous. Why the hell would I be nervous of Hayden Summerall? I'm putting on my shoes when my mom comes downstairs. "Morning honey, where are you going?" She makes a face at me, she knows who's here. "I'm going to hang out with Hayden." I tell her confidently. She doesn't look surprised because she already knew. "Ok, be safe and be home soon, I got news." "Bye mom, love you" I finish putting on my shoes and rush out the door. I accidentally hit him with the door because he was on my porch leaning in to ring the doorbell. "I'm sorry!" I tell him while he rubs the side of his arm. "It's all good let's go."

Hayden made the car ride not as awkward as I thought it would be. One minute we'd be having a conversation about random shit and one minute we'd be having a dancing/singing party to the radio. Currently we're jamming out to his playlist. I reach over and turn off the radio and  he just gives me a weird look but doesn't say anything. "Hey where are we going?" He doesn't respond at first but then finally says "it's a surprise, but don't worry I'm not going to kill you" he laughs a beautiful laugh. "Good I'm about to start a career it'd be good if I'm alive" I laugh. "Yeah you got singing, dancing, acting, AND modeling for you" he gives me a charming smile. Rolling my eyes, "What about you summerall?"

"I don't know you tell me, I'm not sure if I'll go anywhere." I give him a confused look. "What about singing and acting?"  "Eh. Not sure if I'm really talented at that" Of course you are Hayden. "I think you're pretty good at acting", I try to make him feel better.

"Hey! What about my singing!" I give him an 'oops' face. He laughs again and give me an annoyed face as a joke. If I didn't know him I would say he was caring. I could tell that just by looking at his face. He has that kind of energy you want to be around. The car stops but I wouldn't have noticed if he wasn't staring right back at me. Shit. He caught me staring. I just roll my eyes and get out of the car hoping he didn't realize.

We walked to somewhere but I didn't bother wanting to know because my mind was still catching up on what just happened. I look up and see the ocean. But before I notice, my feet are in the sand. It's pretty early and the sand is burning. I quickly jump out of it before it hurts me anymore. Hayden just laughs. "Come on Anns!" He yells as he runs across the scorching sand. I just laugh and watch him yell at how hot it is. He eventually hits the water and calms down. Here goes nothing. I run across the beach feeling hot spikes on my feet every other second. I finally get to the ocean and my feet immediately feel better. "That wasn't so hard was it?" Hayden jokes. I roll my eyes and ask, "why'd you bring me here?" He gives me a disappointed face but then smiles. "You don't remember?" He pouts. I shake my head. "Look around, Annie." I don't see anything in particular, it's just the beach. Then I see it. A hill of rocks.

I don't say anything, I just walk towards it. All of the times I've been here I — I totally forgot. As I get closer to the rocks I hear his footsteps behind me. I can't see his face but I know he's smiling. I turn around and he sure is. I give him a small smile back and stop at a certain rock. "Little do you know." I tell him. "Yeah." "It's been like 5 years, how do I remember the rock." I say sitting down on it. I jump up as soon as I sat on it. It's still hot. "You know why Annie." Hayden says. "Yeah, I do. Our first kiss." He turns and smiles at me but I still focus on the ocean. "What? You brought me here to the place we first kissed thinking I'll kiss you again?" I yell at him. I'm suddenly mad and I don't know why. "No! No, Annie. I just, I just wanted you to have a good time and this is one of the places you really liked. Please don't be mad." He says sounding so vulnerable. And just like that I'm not mad anymore.

I don't know what time it is but the sky is getting darker. Hayden and I have been driving around the town going to places we used to enjoy. You would think this would make me sad but it actually made me happy. Really happy. He remembered all of it as much as I did. "Last stop of the day" Hayden tells me while parking in the same spot we did this morning. I'm almost sad this day is about to be over.

We both walk together to the place I was getting nostalgic at this morning. He starts running so he's ahead of me yelling, "last one there is a — a, a loser! I laugh at that and then give in to the race. I beat him there but I knew he slew down for me. I climb up on the rocks barefoot and it's not hot anymore. He follows behind me stepping on the same rocks I am. We climb in silence just remembering the memories. I then get to the biggest/flattest rock here. I sit down at him resting my back on the rocks behind me. He gets up to where I am and does the same. "I remember complaining about how hot it was the day we were filming the video" he chuckles. "But it was worth it" he looks at me. "Yeah, I guess it was." I never realized how peaceful it is here. It separates you from the beach and gives you the best view of the sunset. As the sun comes down Hayden starts a conversation.

"I'm stupid" he says. "I know" I reply. He laughs, "you know the place we met, Leblanc?" How could I possibly forget? "That pizza place" I say. "Yeah. I was nervous to meet you Annie" he laughs, "I thought you were going to think I was a freak or something. When I first saw you, I had an urge to hug you" I don't say anything and just let him talk. "But when you had a nervous look on your face, I knew you were different. I even tried to sit next to you but you weren't use to 'boys' back then." He laughs again. "But when we were about to leave I somehow got the courage to hug you. And y-"

"And I hugged back" I interrupt. We both are still looking at the waves but I could feel our smiles.

Then I lay my head on his shoulder, and he did the same.
