THE SWORDSMAN

Kyungji was beyond pissed. Not that it was
something new for her to be angry but she really couldn't help it. All her anger always came out even if she tried with all her might to not erupt in fists or insults to the other ones face. It had happened way too many times and it always ended up with that Kyungji regretted it. Not always but often.

Her temper was also the reason she right now was in the outskirts of camp and chopped wood. It was her way to cool down at the same time being effective and to let go of the anger. All of the team had agreed that this was the best way to go after Kyungji had punched Haneul in square in the face. They disagreed on an decision but Haneul had the last word and Kyungji could not fight the impulse.

No one was mad and it had become so quiet, there was no anger left, just regret. Because all of them knew that she could have dodged it, but she didn't. Kyungji was forgiven immediately by their leader.

"We won't be able to sort these things out like this every time because then I will go around with a broken nose all the time"

But right now it was a whole other issue. It was once again those damn veterans that who still acted like they were the ones in charge. It really ticked her of and she was on her way to expose their meeting after she caught the whiffs of it. But then she saw Haneul on her way to do that exact thing and she decided against it. So she went to the wooden stump away from the center of camp and there she was blowed out some steam. Or aggressively chopped up wood.

She just didn't trust the veterans because of the constant resistance against the new group and they weren't even that new! Some of them had been here at camp since birth and that is herself included. The others had been here for at least a year and all of them had been trained by the former leaders. They completely ignored the fact that they were retired and it pissed Kyungji off to no end.

After the first time they sneaked behind the girls she lost all trust in them and gain her trust back was hard.

After some time Kyungji made her way back to the center of camp and the fire pit with all of the chopped wood. She put it down just beside of Mira without a notice that she even existed. She was just so caught up in her own thoughts and rambles of different ingredients. Kyungji could not help but crack a smile at the older girl and she was once again calm. The impulse to throw a fit was long gone like all the clouds on the sky. It really had that deep but bright sky blue that made you feel like you could just fly over the treetops.

Kyungji became almost lost in the harmonic feeling of utter calmness. All the ruckus from earlier was almost long gone with the wind that gently swept over the seemingly calm camp and took all the worries away from them. She took a stroll around to just make sure everything was alright. It was the young girls duty to and it had become for almost every one of them a routine.

To walk in the forest that surrounded the camp always made her feel like she was home. It was like she was back in the days of her youth. Many would argue that she still bloomed in youth but like almost all of the girls feel they were already long gone from the calm days where their most problem would be a crush. It was almost like it was stolen from them. Did it even exist at all?

She could hear the voices of the younger versions of her two older sisters and herself while they ran around the trees and laughed out their hearts content. That was her youth and it was by now long gone, like the white sommer clouds from the sky. Now it was that unpredictable but soothing blue that hold such mystery of what the future holds. It did not show a sign of storm but neither a sign of just a easy breeze.

Life really is, and was unpredictable.

Suddenly Kyungji heard actual children's laugh that came in her direction with a rustle of leaves. It was three of them, two boys and one girl and all of them stopped in front of her and blocked the way. One of the boys, Suyoon was a bit braver and took a step forward to meet her.

" It's lunchtime and Mr. Wu told us to fetch you! Apparently it's some kind of leader business going on on the other side of camp by the fence." The young boy said and pointed one of his chubby fingers in the said direction. " Mr. Wu also said that you should hurry to eat up"

Kyungji feelt how her face scrunched up in confusion over what possibly could make the old man that concerned that he told her to hurry up. Mr. Wu was always the one who made sure no one took to rash decision and to not stress and make bad decisions.

She nodded to signal to the children that she understood and took of to the fire were there served lunch. She almost ran up to Mira who served that hot chicken soup.

"Did you hear about the meeting?" She asks Mira who scoped up the soup into bowls for some kids.

"Yeah I did, go on ahead and don't worry about food I will take it with me" Mira looked up and signaled her to go.

Kyungji started to run and with every step she took she extended her steps and fastened the pace. In the worry she was consumed in she started to him. So many questions that soon would have an answer but when that were answered the void that they left would just be filled with even more questions that just grew until there would be almost no space left for her. Why could it not just be as calm as the sky above?
