THE LEADER

"Wake up! And your supposed to be the leader and in charge of security!"

Haneul was woken up by the angry girl called Nara. She sat straight up in her bed realizing it was almost lunchtime by the sun outside the window. Back came the thoughts from last night and the stress immediately catches up to her. Taking herself by the head and groaning a bit she meets the eyes of Nara who is standing in the doorway with her hands on her hips.

"Man I'm sorry I was planing late and then Jungso came. He didn't feel so good so I took his nightshift" Haneul meekly tries to explain to the seemingly pissed Nara.

"We can handle a sick Jungso but it's harder if our leader is sick!" Nara states angrily " Now I got to yell at Jungso to!"

She disappears in a cloud of curses and mumbling and Haneul can't help but laugh a bit at the older girl. But she also makes an mental note to apologize to Jungso for saying anything to her.

Haneul hurry's out of the bed and into her clothing and lastly when she is in front of the door she picks up the rifle that leans on the doorframe. Taking a step out of the little cabin where she and eight other girls sleep she gets a good view of the camp.It was a calm day and you could hear kids laughing and playing a bit in the forest that the camp stood in. In the center was an stone rimmed fire pit where there was preparing for lunch. Around 100 meters away Haneul saw a angry Nara slamming a door to one of the many wooden cabins. She ran up to the storming Nara but halfway there the other girl noticed her and lifted a finger warning her not to any come closer. Stopping to turn around going the other way while laughing at her hot tempered friend.

Walking over to the fire pit humming to herself and greeting ones surrounding the cooking food that was spreading an sent of grills chicken over the camp.

"How are you dear? You look like you haven't slept very well." Mrs Ri a woman with grey stripes in her hair greets the young leader.

"I'm feeling better than I probably look and I have a feeling I overslept a bit" earning a laugh from the older woman Haneul smiles wide.

"Ah, I could probably tell you that something is going on in the map room again. But you did not hear that from me" with a glimmer in her eyes Mrs Ri turns to the food once again.

"What would I do without you?"

And with that Haneul starts running through the camp and to one of the bigger cabins on the outskirts and when she comes closer she could hear male voices from inside. Going up to the front door and opening it revealing five older men in their fourtys to sixties all hovering over a map on a table in the center of the cabin. She lets out an frustrated sigh at the scene before her that way to many times have happened since she was pronounced as the leader. There's no idea of even trying to acting like she was surprised.

"Oh look here, a meeting"

Low mumbles spread across the room and one of the men stood up to meet her as she walked forward to the map before them.
" an urgent issue came up"

"So urgent that you couldn't tell me, your chosen leader that you very well know is in camp" An not so amused smile was evident on Haneuls face.
" And don't you dare use my health as a excuse"

"But your just to young to be leading a camp all by yourself!" The man speaking was the late leader Mr. Kim and he was surrounded by his team, or those in the life.

"With all due respect sir, you have retired and you make it sound like I do not seek your guidance on important matters and always take what you have to say in recognition. And second of all am I far away from doing this alone because I have my hand picked team that I know have my back."

A silence filled the room and all of the men looked everywhere but at the girl now standing by the map.

"Okey fill me in" Haneuls usually soft voice was demanding and stern.

Mr.Roe a broad man with tired face, gestures for her to take a seat and as she does he starts ." As you know is our little forest surrounded by an fence that has been protecting us from the undead." He said as he gestured over the map over their little safe haven."until now when one from your team found a hole in the fence witch is a serious security issue. We need to take action now."

"W-what" Haneul lets out in shock looking at a place on the map that Mr.Roe was pointing at.

"And there is no scrap left after the hole, its like it never was there"

Trying her best to prosess the information given to her she looks down in her lap. A sufucating feeling suddenly washes over her and she has to restrain herself from running away from the kaous that was now happening with the men around the table
