" You also have a nice sense of humor too, I like that', he said making her blush again. " Thanks. I never really thought of myself as a funny person, but others think so", Jasmine said. It surprised her because she never cared or worried about what other people thought of her. "Oh I just remembered to ask you about the homecoming dance", Ryan said. Both of their heartrate's were increasing hoping for the same thing: to go together. "What about the dance", she asked. He froze with fear, afraid of asking the real question he's been dying to ask since he first heard of the event.

"Did you pick a costume yet?", he asked. Jasmine felt a little disappointed but she realized that she needed to separate fantasy from reality. " Actually I'm not even sure I'm going to the dance, Ryan", she said. Right away he was disappointed, "What?!", He exclaimed accidentally bumping into somebody, not watching where he was going. "I-I mean uh why not, it's our last homecoming dance wouldn't you want to remember it when you get older".

"I think you're getting that confused with prom, but don't stop on my account, I'll just go with it.", she said while chuckling. He laughed while shaking his head," What I mean is wouldn't you want to be a part of everything due to it being our last year in high school. After this it will just be a nice memory from your days in high school.", He said trying to persuade her to go. "Why go to a dance where I probably won't have a costume ready in time? There would be so much to prepare but in so little time.", Jasmine explained. "Are you kidding? You're Jasmine Diaz, you can do anything, and you can solve any problem that goes your way.", He said trying to hype her up into going to the dance. "Thanks for the confidence boost, Ryan. I really do appreciate it. Its just I'm not sure about it, but I'll think about it.",

"Well wait what's your costume going to be?", I asked. "It's a surprise, Jasmine. You're gonna have to be come in order to see mine", he said. She groaned while nodding her head in accepting the fact that she would have to go. Deep down she knew that Ryan was right, life is short so make some memories. But he doesn't have to know that, maybe she could just give him a surprise visit. "Okay I'll think about it', she said while giving him a smirk. "Great! So I'll see you around. It was really nice talking to you, Jasmine', Ryan said not wanting to leave. "It was nice talking to you too, Ryan. Hasta luego, Sr. Hanson", she said with sweet smile while walking away to class (See you later, Mr. Hanson). "Adios', he replied waving and walking in another direction.

Ryan's POV

After talking with Jasmine I was heading to History class, when Austin came by my side. "So' he said. "So what', I asked. "Saw you talking with Jasmine. Did you tell her yet?', Austin asked. "No way, man. That's never gonna happen. I'm not going to risk it so she can laugh in my face', I said. I would rather take my feelings for her to the grave if I have to. If I told Jasmine how I feel about her she would think I'm a joke. She would treat me as if I was like David, she would never be interested in me. " Okay so what did you two talk about then', he asked. "Well we talked about the dance tonight and-'. Austin put his hand on my chest, stopping us from walking to class," You asked her to the dance?!', he interrupted and cheered for his friend.

"No I didn't. Would you let me finish?', I asked. Austin put his hands up in surrender and let his friend continue his story while they walk to class.

Jasmine's POV

In study hall/last period of the day; Sam, Carter and I re out in the school's baseball field. I would catch the balls Sam would miss while Carter fears for his life trying not to get hit by any balls. Luckily this next ball he ducked just in time, otherwise it would've been a ball to the head for Mr. Carter Farrell. "That was close. So you're finally gonna be able to meet him', Carter said. "I don't know. This guy's too good to be true.", Sam said getting ready to swing again. Right after the hit Carter took a dive to the ground. "Oh come on, Sam. It's been, like, a month since you met him in that Princeton chat room online. I don't see the problem with just meeting the guy", I said.

"Jasmine's right. You've been emailing him everyday since you joined. You talk to him all the time. You know him', Carter says. "I know that guys, but he doesn't know me. What if I see him and I'm not what he expects?', she asks. "Eh, she's got a point though, Carter.', I agree. "Maybe this whole relationship is just better off for cyberspace', Sam says ready to hit another ball. The next ball hit Carter's ankle earning silent laughs from Sam and I. " Listen, okay? Sam, you have to go to that dance, okay? This Nomad guy isn't gonna be in one place for long, all right? If it helps, I'll be your escort.", Carter volunteers. "Really?', Sam asked. Carter nods his head telling her he's positive. " Aw Carter, that 's so nice of you. And Sam if you like I can help back you up to avoid any problems.", Jasmine says." You guys rock!' Sam cheered. Batting practice was interrupted by Sam's cellphone. As soon as she answered the phone I can only imagine who it was. I wasn't even standing next to her and I could hear someone shouting her name from the other end.

Ugh Fiona. The cold sore that doesn't go away. The evil witch that will never die from being squished by a house. "One more pitch", Sam said after hanging up her phone. "Why do you act like her slave?', Carter asked. " Simple: No Fiona, No Princeton', she stated. "That sucks", Carter and I said in sync. "Tell me about it", Sam said before taking an amazing hit over to the other field where the football players are practicing. "Hey, it's outta here!', Carter cheered.

Ryan's POV

As Austin and I were practicing with each other, confusion was brought on our faces when a baseball landed by us. "Damn a girl hit that! See, now that's impressive.', Austin said. Tonight's the dance and we've never talked about it at all.

"Hey, so what are you and Shelby going to the dance as? I just realized we never talked about it.' I asked as he picked up the baseball. " I don't know if I'm going with Shelby.', he said. I can't believe he just said that, Shelby's been going on about how they're going to win Homecoming Prince and Princess. I guess they're not on the same page anymore. "You're not going to go with Shelby? Who else are you gonna go with?', I asked as he threw the baseball back to the other field. " I don't know. It's a mystery to me. But what about you man? Who are you going to the dance with?', He asked. I don't even have a costume yet, let alone a date. However, we already talked about this, he just wants to mess with me about my crush on Jasmine. So we talked with David and thought it would be cool to be The Three Musketeers. So after practice David called and we each paid for our costumes, Austin had to leave to for work right after. I hope she comes tonight!
