Dan's P.O.V

The last 20 minutes at Phil's house was agonising. None of us spoke and I couldn't help but wonder if Phil was just being nice to me in front of his mother.

But that was over and now, I'm safely in my mother's car, a Winnie the pooh audio book playing through the speakers.

As soon as we turned the corner off Phil's street, my mother handed me my blue, sailor dummy. I smiled and placed it in my mouth.

My mother found out I was a little a few years ago by accident. I was in my room watching Winnie because I was ill and off school and since everyone else was out at either work or school, I had my dummy in. About half way through the movie I fell asleep and awoke with my mother sat at the end of my bed. I pulled my dummy from my mouth and attempted to form coherent words to explain and, however, I failed. My mother, however, just smiled, picked up my dummy and placed it back in my mouth. "Go back to sleep, baby boy, I'll wake you up later with soup." She whispered, soothingly.

I'm glad she found out. And I'm glad my family excepted me for it. My mum even got me those spoons that look like planes.

But yeah, since that day, it has become compulsory. Spare dummies in the kitchen, lounge, my bedroom, my mum and dad's room, both cars, mum's bag and in a hidden pocket in my school bag. I'm also pretty sure Dodie has one in her bag just in case but I've never confirmed that.

"Thanks, Mummy." I said, though muffled by my dummy. I leaned against the window and closed my eyes. I soon fell asleep.

I awoke in my cloud onesie in my bed, I guess my mum and dad brought me up.

"Hey there, sleepy head," my dad said as he entered my room carrying a tray, "Mum thought you might like some pasta." He place the white tray on my lap. Sure enough, there was bacon, cheese and tomato pasta in my Winnie the pooh bowl. My mum know's me so well.

"Thank you, Dada." I said as I took out my dummy.

"Anytime, Prince." My dad said. As he left, he turned on my TV and shut my door.

I dug in using my Winnie knife and fork. My mum also gave me a matching sippy filled with orange juice.

I finnished up and couldn't help but think about Phil. Would he stop beating me up? Did he mean what he said? Was he pretending? These thoughts kept running round my head til my mother came up to collect my dishes and to tell me to brush my teeth.

I got up and did as she asked.

Mum must have ran up and down those stairs like a ninja since when I got back, my blanket was laid out, my Winnie the pooh stuffie on top and a sippy of water on my night stand.

She also put on my night light since I'm scared of the dark. Dad got me this last Christmas and it projected stars onto my ceiling.

Phil filled (No pun intended) my thoughts until I fell into an uneasy sleep.

The next morning, I awoke to Dodie opening my curtains. "Mum said we can go shopping today!" She said, climbing on me, carefully, obviously aware of my injuries, and gave me a hug.

I wasn't gonna lie, I did love going shopping as a family, especially if we are going where I think we are going.

I hugged her back, placing a small kiss on her shoulder.

As she pulled away, I noticed she was already dressed. She was wearing a pink and black floral shirt, gold brown dungree dress, black tights and rose gold shoes.
