"Are you sure it's this way?" Donald asked as his nephews and Webby led him, Scrooge and Gladstone through the woods, his uncle's staff following close behind.
"Yes!" Webby exclaimed, "100%!"
Upon the girl saying that, they reached the tower. Dewey ran ahead.
"Huey!" He called. "Huey, it's us! Let us up!"
It was silent a moment before the rope came flying down.
"Stay here!" Donald instructed. "I'm going in!"
"Lad, what do you think you're doing?!" Scrooge exclaimed. Donald turned to look his uncle in the eyes.
"Saving my kid." He replied seriously, climbing up the rope without hesitation.
"Huey!" He cried as he climbed through the window. "Huey, don't worry, I'm going to get you out-"
Donald was cut off by the sight of his nephew and a teenage girl - Lena - being handcuffed together and chained to the ground, and gagged.
"Get out of here!" Lena warned, though it was muffled by the gag. That's when Donald felt a sharp pain in his back, causing him to fall over.
"Now look what you've done, Huey," he heard Magica say, "but don't worry, the secret will die with him unless those brats you call brothers want to try anything. As for us, we are going where no one will ever find either of you again!"
"No! Please!" Came the muffled cries from both children. Never before had Donald felt so powerless.
"I failed you, Della..." he whispered. That's when he heard a crash and footsteps.
"Let go of them!" He heard Webby cry, and he could hear a crash as Magica fell and broke a mirror. "I'm not letting you tear apart this family again!"
"Oh, look Lena," Magica laughed, "it looks like your little friend wants to follow the same fate as Donald! Very well then!"
"No!" Huey cried, managing to get out the gag. "No! I will never stop fighting, never stop trying to get away from you...but if you let Webby live and you let me save Uncle Donald....I'll go with you."
"Huey..." Donald managed to say, "don't do it, I'm not worth it."
"I'll never run," Huey continued to say, "I'll never try to escape! Just let me heal my uncle, and we can be together forever, just like you wanted!"
Magica seemed to think for a moment. She unlocked the cuffs from Huey, and let him run over to Donald. That's when Dewey and Louie climbed through the window.
"What happened?" Dewey asked, running over to join his brother and uncle. Louie said nothing, but silent tears fell down his cheeks like a rainstorm as he followed suit.
"Magica stabbed him." Huey explained. "But it's going to be ok! Hang on, Uncle Donald-"
"Huey, Dewey and Louie." Donald said with a smile. "Funny how life turns out like that. Tell Daisy that I love her, and tell Uncle Scrooge thank you for keeping you safe, Dewey. And tell Gladstone that his luck is insufferable, and tell Panchito and José that-"
"No," Louie insisted, "you're going to be ok. You have to be ok."
"Boys, I can't let you do this!"
"I can't let you die!" Huey exclaimed, embracing him. "You can't die when I've barely known you!"
"If you do this, you will die." Donald pointed out.
"Huey, wait!" Dewey exclaimed.
"What-" Huey couldn't even finish his sentence when Dewey slashed a knife across Huey's eyes and sending him falling back.
