"Mom, where are we going to go?" Kay asked as she gathered snacks off of shelves into her backpack.
"I dont know yet, just keep stuffing those bags" Gianna instructed. They stopped at a gas station nearby to congregate supplies for the apocalypse.
"Mommy, there's a girl standing over there." Eternity said as she pointed next to the front counter.
Gianna set her bag down and turned to the counter. There she saw a little girl curled up on the floor. The girl had black hair which was pulled into a low ponytail and was wearing a green dress. Gianna approached the girl slowly in case she was a zombie. "Yo bish!!" She screeched into her ear.
The girl quickly got up, she looked at Gianna with scared eyes. "Please dont hurt me, miss!" She pleaded.
Gianna put her hands up in surrender "I won't. It's fine. Well, not really."
The girl nodded as she got up. "My name is Charlene, what's yours?"
"Gianna, but that doesn't matter. I have some questions for you, okay? "
" Uh huh. " Charlene nodded anxiously.
" Are you alone? Are you bitten? How'd you get here? And how old are you?"
"Yes. I don't think so. My mom came in to buy me candy... She's dead now, I think. And I'm 8."
Gianna nodded. "So, what happened to the rest of your family?"
"Well, I was adopted so all I have is a brother and mom. My brother is 11, my mom left him in the car. I never went to check if he was still there cuz I was too scared. "
Gianna felt bad for the little girl but she knew to not get too attached. "I'll go look for him. Is he in the silver car out front?"
"Yeah. "
" Okay." Gianna turned to Kay, "You keep an eyes on all the kids" She ordered then ran outside. As she approached the silver car she became more cautious. She looked through the passenger seat window. Her heart wrenched at the sight. There sat an 11 year old boy who was now a corpse. His skin was rotten and his hair was matted down with blood. "Rest in piece" Gianna murmured then turned back to the store. She entered and saw Charlene looking at her with big brown eyes.
"Did you find him?" She asked hopefully.
"Um... Charlene... " Gianna trailed off not knowing what to say.
Kay looked between them knowingly, "How about we finish packing supplies. Charlene you can come with us!"
Charlene looked at Kay with excitement "That'd be fun!" She exclaimed. Gianna smiled at her excitement. As they finished packing up Gianna looked over at Charlene and saw her sprawled out on the ground with Eternity hovering over her.
Gianna ran over to them worriedly "Are you guys Okay?"
Eternity looked at her mother with a smile, "I am! But Char is acting weird, she keeps holding her tummy."
Gianna smiled sadly at Charlene who was obviously in pain. "Are you.." She trailed off as she noticed a mark on Charlene's left wrist. Gianna slowly blinked as she realized what would happen soon. She called Kay over and pointed it out.
"Shit, what are we gonna do?" She asked nervously.
"We have to shoot her brain, that's the only way to stop her from turning. Trust me, I saw it on a lot of movies and video games." Gianna explained.
"But... She's just a little girl. Maybe she wont turn. We cant just end her life at such a young age. " Kay rambled.
Gianna shook her head,"It'd be better this way."
Kay nodded solemnly as a tear rolled down her cheek. "I cant do it though, im going to take the triplets outside." And with that Kay took hold of Eternity's hand and dragged her away from the dying girl. Bar and Asher followed.
Gianna looked at Charlene with sad eyes. "Hey Char, it'll be okay. Soon you'll be in a better place. You'll get to see your mom and brother again." Gianna whispered soothingly.
Charlene looked into Gianna's eyes, "Promise?"
Gianna nodded "Promise." Then she slowly pulled out her gun. "Just turn the other way, and it'll be over."
Charlene did as she said "Does this mean I won't see you again?" She asked quietly.
"Maybe one day." Gianna responded. "I love you Charlene."
"I love you too, Gianna." Charlene whispered "I'm ready to see my family now."
Gianna nodded, at this point tears were streaming down her face. She shakily lifted her gun and aimed at Charlene's head. "Goodbye." She said then pulled the trigger. A loud 'Bang' sounded and that was the end.

Adam ran through the hall fighting off zombies as she looked for the storage ward. She passed tons of people she once knew who were now zombified. As she kept running she ran into a muscular figure. She stumbled backwards then look up to see Mason's face. Only, his face wasn't like how it always was, it was pale and ripped up a little. "Mason!" Adam yelled happily. Mason groaned in response then went to bite her arm, before he could though someones arm swooped in and dragged her behind a door. The door locked and said person blocked it off with a table. Adam dizzily got up and looked to see who her savior was. Clary.
"Adam!! What were you thinking!!!? " Clary asked with astonishment.
" W-what? " Adam asked with confusion.
" You almost hugged your zombie boyfriend!! " Clary yell-whispered.
" H-he was a z-zombie? " Adam asked shakily.
" Yes. Im sorry. "
Adam sat down on boxes nearby and cried into her hands. "This sucks. I should have listened to Jay."
Clary nodded "We need to get out of here."
"I know. What's the plan? "
" We dont need a plan, we just need to follow the rule of yolo!! " Clary said confidently.
" Oh geez. " Adam muttered.
" Lets go! "
