The last thing I remembered seeing before my eyes clouded with tears, was Blaze standing in the doorway, watching Hunter drag me to his car. His head had been down, hands in his pockets. I still couldn't believe he'd ignored my please for help, but we both knew there was nothing he could have done. Hunter had no right to do this. No right to take me away from Blaze. The whole jealousy thing had gone too far. I looked out the car window, speeding down the street. In the slight reflection, I noticed my face. My eyes were puffy and red; I was overall distressed. My eyes shift darkly to Hunter. His blonde hair ruffled in the slight breeze from the open window on the driver's side. He glared at the road, hands grasping the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles had turned white. A few tears of anger rolled down his face, but he kept his gaze from mine, eyebrows furrowing. He sighed as he reached for my hand, and I pulled away. I wished severely that my life were like a movie or a fairytale. Everything would work out perfectly, and I would end up with Blaze no matter what.

Movies and fairytales aren't real, I reminded myself.

Before long, the car stopped. I looked up to see Hunter's house. His small white and brown themed bungalow had never really been an impressing sight for me. In fact it was where most of our fights took place. From where he'd parked, you could perfectly see the sun setting. I remembered watching them with him when our relationship was in better shape. That was a year ago. Now, I couldn't stand being in the same room as him. A slight breeze rocked the porch swing back and forth. The wind picked up, swaying the leaves on the trees surrounding there yard every way. A storm must be headed. He eyed me coldly, crossing him arms and sitting back. I did the same.

"Starr, you need to get over it. Blaire isn't your boyfriend." he hissed.

I hated when he used Blaze's real name; it hardly suited him. And to my liking, Blaze sounded sexy. I stayed quiet, refusing to even acknowledge him.

"Look, I'm sorry, but you shouldn't be sleeping at another guy's house. Especially one you like..." He stumbled through his words aimlessly. It wasn't the first time I'd heard the overprotective speech, so I just shrugged.

"It shouldn't matter. He's my best friend, nothing more, and he has a girlfriend, Hunter."

I flung the door open, taking a single deep breath. My bare feet burrowed into the damp gravel. In all my frustration, I'd failed to notice it was raining. Despite the cold droplets, I was determined to leave.

     "Starr, wait."

I looked back at him crossly. "Give me a reason to stay."

He bit his lip, fighting to say what he really wanted, substituting the words. "I love you."

I got to my feet, and the next thing I knew Hunter had slithered his fingers in between mine. He slowly smuggled something smooth and chill into my palm. It was a sparkling necklace with a diamond heart. I threw it to the ground; I wouldn't be won over with pointless jewelry.

"I'm going back to Blaze's." I said through gritted teeth.

He wrapped his arms around me, too tight to escape from. "I don't want you around him." I tried to fight him off of me, when he forcefully turned me around to face him. "If I ask you something, will you answer me honestly?"

I had never seen Hunter cry before now; he always made himself look stronger than that. But I suppose I meant more to him than I thought. More to him than he did to me. I just stared at him. His face became solemn, hands placed precisely on my shoulders, looking each other straight in the eye. I mentally prepared myself for what was next.

"Do you honest and truly love Blaze more than me?"

I continued just standing there, holding my breath, feeling the small drops of rain fall into the crown of my head. I couldn't say anything. It was almost as if my lips had been stitched shut.
