1.3) Paint and Portals

Error's POV
"Oooooh Error!!! Are you home?"

"Go AwAy InK!!!"

"Nope! I'm here to pay you a visit, so visit you I will!"

"oH, sHaRdS. WhY dO yOu AlWaYs PiCk ThE wOrSt TiMeS iNk?!"

"Because there's never a good time for you, and I honestly don't care!" Ink yelled cheerfully.

"Oh! Hi Ink!" Blue chirped from where he was perched on one of Error's thread hammocks.

The second Ink saw Blue, he came to the conclusion that Error kidnapped him again. So he attacked.

"oH, sHoOt. BlUe, StReTcH, gEt BaCk. I'm AbOuT tO gO cRaZy WitH mY bLaStErS," Error said, glitching even more than usual due to the extra magic rushing through him in his panicked state.

"Blue, come here. I'll get you out of the line of fire. And Error, don't worry about us, okay bud? You know that we're both a lot tougher than we look. And even if we do die, we'll just come back next time the timeline in Underswap resets. Oh, and use your blasters wisely!"

Blue ran over to Stretch, who picked him up and teleported to the far end of Error's domain. When he got there, Blue stubbornly refused to release him.

"Blue, you need to let go. I have to go back and help Error."

"Papy, you KNOW that I am more than capable of taking care of myself. Let me help, I might be able to talk some sense into Ink."

"Ugh... your logic is something that I can't argue with. Fine. But if you get hurt, you WILL retreat. Or else I'll get Error to make you a leash out of those threads of his, so that I can always keep an eyesocket out for you."

"Got it Papy. Now let's do this!"

The Swap bros returned to find Error partially trapped in Ink's magic-weakening paint chains, which didn't bode well for him.

"Error! Try and get us a portal away from here!" Stretch yelled. "Blue, help him with the chains. I'll handle Ink," he said, much quieter.

"Ink! Why are you doing this?!"

"Why are you here Stretch? I thought you hated Error, why are you protecting him?!"

"Because he needs someone to give him some kindness!!! Ink, if you want to hurt Error, you'll have to get through me, and I'm not afraid to give you a ＢＡＤ ＴＩＭＥ."

"ME TOO!!!" Blue yelled.

Error continued to squirm free of the chains, and he had finally gotten one of his arms free, so it was going much faster now.

"Hey, Error, let me help you," Blue whispered.

"yEs pLeAsE. gEt ThEsE oFF oF mE."

"Mmmkay," Blue grabbed a piece of the chain and summoned a teeny blaster. "Error, stay as still as you can, okay? If you move, I might hit you by accident, and that would be bad."

Error stood very still- he really didn't want to get hit with the blaster. Although it was an adorable little blaster, small and rounded with bright blue star-shaped eyes, like Blue's.

"oKaY, BlUe, I'm GoInG tO mAkE a PoRtAl. GeT yOuR bRoThEr'S aTtEnTiOn, So He'Ll Be NeArBy WhEn I oPeN iT."

As soon as Error opened the portal, the trio leapt through it, wanting to get away before Ink, in his rage, hurt someone badly.

"Uh-Oh. I dOn'T tHiNk ThAt PoRtAl HaD a SpEcIfIc DeStInAtIoN..."

Dream's POV
Ink rushed home to cry to Dream about the Swap bros being brainwashed by Error.

"Dream! Dream!!! Error kidnapped Blue again!

"What?! I haven't felt anything but positive and neutral emotions from Blue today!"

"Maybe Error has some kind of magical barrier?"

"Ink, you know that my connection to positive emotions can't be blocked by anyone except my brother, and I know if he is blocking it. Nightmare couldn't have been helping Error, I was fighting (actually out having lunch and chatting) with him. I only just got back when you came in."

"That isn't even the worst part! Stretch was PROTECTING him when I had tied him up in paint chains, and Blue FREED him!" Ink screeched.

"Chill out Ink. I'm sure they had a reason. Maybe they felt bad for him (Or, more likely, they're friends, and they didn't want their friend to get hurt)," Dream answered, while nudging his magical aura of positivity to try and cheer up Ink.

"But-"

"NO, Ink," Dream scolded.

"Ink, if you didn't know, Blue and Error are friends, so you don't need to worry about Error hurting Blue. He wouldn't dare hurt one of his only friends, okay?" Dream said.

"He's Error. I don't trust him not to-"

"Don't argue with me Ink. (My brother and I may not be the best of friends, but we still meet up sometimes to talk about life, no fighting involved. He tells me funny stories about what's happened with him and his gang, he goes on and on about his crush, we discuss normal things.) Just because Error is the destroyer doesn't mean he doesn't have a life, and friends, okay?"

Ink grumbled, unable to find fault in Dream's logic.

"After all, Ink, haven't you noticed that after we battle Error, Blue always disappears? He goes to heal Error, because they're friends, and good friends don't let their friends suffer. As for why Stretch was there, I'm guessing that Blue probably managed to convince him to give Error a second chance, perhaps by explaining the reason for his destruction."

"How could he have a reason?! He's killing innocents!" Ink yelled.

"Maybe he has no choice Ink. After all, whenever I find him with my magic while he's destroying I feel nothing but negative feelings from him... he's not happy about it," Dream said calmly.

"Fine... We still have to find Blue though!!!"

"Yes, we do. I'll look for him in his dreams later, okay? Don't worry, Blue and Stretch can take care of each other."

"Okay... I'm still worried about him though."

"It'll all be fine, Ink. I'm sure that Stretch and Error won't let any harm come to Blue."

"I hope you're right Dream."

Parentheses and italics are just some sneaky lil thoughts I tucked in there, so you can see what Dream really thinks. Dream knows all the things. So does Nighty. They both know about the Balance, but are sworn to secrecy about it.
