An Error in the Stars || Undertale AUs [Abandoned]

1.4) Dreamtime with Dream!

I wanted a buffer between my two Error chapters... so have a short snippet with Dream, Nighty and Cross.

This chapter is mostly set in the Dreamscape - Dream and Nightmare's domain. They are stalking Cross in his dreams... how creepy can you get? LOL

"Nope. Still nothing," Dream groaned to himself.

"HEY! NIGHTMARE! I KNOW YOU'RE AROUND HERE SOMEWHERE! I HAVE FUNNY THINGS TO SHOW YOU!" He yelled.

"Dream, I'm right behind you... heh."

Dream jumped, alarmed by Nightmare's sudden appearance.

"Nighty! Why did you do that?!"

"Eh, I thought it was funny."

"Hey Nighty, I peered in on one of Error's dreams lately, and I think you'll appreciate it," Dream said, pulling up the memory using the magic of the Dreamscape. "Here, just watch it."

"Was that really one of Error's dreams?"

"Yup," Dream said, trying not to laugh at the indignation in Nightmare's voice. He failed miserably, but he tried.

"I have a dream from Cross... but it's kinda awkward. So I think I'll bring out this dream from the original Papyrus... it's so stupid it's funny," said Nightmare. "I've also got another dream from that Papyrus. I'll show it to you now (the funny video up top)."

"Papyrus dreamed that?!" Dream said, giggling.

"Yup," Nightmare said, as his slime retreated, uncovering a sans that looked like a more shadowy version of Dream.

"Oh, brother! I'm glad to see that you can still take on this form. Hey, wanna go stalk Cross with me sometime? He's so cute!"

"Grrrr..."

"Oh, is somebody jealous?"

"Yes, Dream. Somebody is most certainly jealous," growled Nightmare, goop spreading to cover the bright teal blush on his face.

"Oh Nighty. Let's just go stalk him, we can let him decide who gets to be with him. And if he can't decide then we can just share him."

Nightmare snorted at Dream's cheerful mention of a love triangle, before opening a slit into Cross's dreams for the two of them.

'ᴛhe ᴅreamtale brothers are stalking you again.'

"Oh, Chara, it's fine."

'ʙut they're sᴛᴀʟᴋɪɴɢ you!'

"Yeah? So what? I don't care if they're stalking me. It's rather adorable to know that they agree on something, and they're not fighting!"

'ʙut ᴄross!!!'

"Oh, hush Chara. I told you before and I'll tell you again- I'll ask Error for a soul for you next time I see him. I know that's the real reason you're so whiny."

'ᴍeanie.'

"Yeah, yeah, yeah Chara. Now hush."

"Oh my goodness... he and Chara were arguing about us stalking him," Dream said, giggling.

"Eh, who cares if Chara doesn't approve? He probably can't manage to take control long enough to do anything too drastic, after all, we can't die, so his knife is pretty useless," Nightmare said, after thinking about it.

"Plus we are the GODS of the Dreamscape, so if we wanted we could do most anything here."

"True," Nightmare said.

"Oh! Stars! I forgot to look for Blue, Error and Stretch! Nighty, could you help me look for them?"

"Yes, just for you bro, because I'm in a good mood."

Both guardians began to search the Dreamscape by sending out waves of their magic, searching for the magical signatures of their targets. Neither of them could find anything though, so they decided to give up for now and return to stalking Cross, and they would check again later.

I JUST HAD TO MAKE THEM GET ALONG SOMEHOW, AND IF STALKING CROSS IS THE WAY, THEN SO BE IT! 😂

Plus it's a good start for Nightcream later on, so whatever!

Also, yes, Cross-Chara is a boy in X-tale canon, so I'm going along with that.

This is about half a chapter by my standards, but it's just a buffer, to add more anticipation. It was fun to write though.
