All around me was the aura of death. The battlefield was littered with bodies. I stood there in the midst of it with no expression on my face. My army had won the battle, but at a great cost. 10,000,000 soldiers lost their lives and for what? Just so those bastards at the top could have some fun.
Yes, to us, it was a life or death situation. But to them, it was just a game. Millions of people died, all because of their selfishness.
I hate them. I hate them! I HATE THEM!!! How dare they treat our lives like cattle?! Meant to be expended?! We are living! Breathing! Why?!
If only I was more powerful.....then they wouldn't have had to die.
Those bastards need to die! Die!! DIE!!!!
Xiaoyao woke up, soaked in sweat. She clasped her hand over her heart and took a deep breath to calm her roaring heartbeat.
"Just a dream. It's just a dream." She said to console herself. Only she knew it wasn't That scenery. Those bodies. It was all real.
No, no, no. I shouldn't think of it. It's all in the past, yes, all in the past. Right now, I should only think of getting ready for the tournament.
She stretched out her body and got ready to go into town. Today, she would go looking for some weapons and maybe do some training.

Xiaoyao left the Xiao Family Residence with two tails behind her (Xiao Bao and Xiao Jin). She sighed in resignation. She tried to sneak out without them noticing, but those two were too attentive. She didn't want these two fools to come because she also wanted to train in the Demonic Forest to temper her body and solidify her foundation as well as gain combat experience.
Xiaoyao especially didn't want Xiao Jin, this overprotective idiot, to see her purposefully risk her life to get stronger. Last time she did that, he decimated the entire place she trained in.
She decided to secretly slip away when they weren't paying attention.
Xiaoyao looked around and didn't see anything interesting. As time went on, the excitement from seeing the city slowly died away in her eyes.
Each weapon shop she went to made her say something like this:
"Boring."
"Not powerful enough."
"Sigh, it has too many defects."
Xiaoyao shook her head. "Too impure. The quality of the sword could have been much better."
"Not pretty enough."
At that last comment, the corners of Xiao Bao's and Xiao Jin's mouths twitched.
The last shop she went to was a humble little place. The weapons there looked rusty and damaged, but Xiaoyao's eyes lit up. One weapons in particular caught her eye. Though a bit dull, it was crafted to a level that she approved of.
'That's—!' Hei Lianhua's voice blurted out.
'Lianhua! It's been a while! Why were you so silent all this time? You're usually extremely talkative.' Xiaoyao asked in surprise.
Lianhua scratched his head. 'Well, there were two reasons. One, that subordinate of yours was powerful enough to detect me. Judging by your reactions, he must be a protective guy, so if he knew I possessed your body, he'd probably try to destroy me, though I don't know how. Two, I wanted to recover my soul power a bit, so I haven't contacted you in a while.'
