A/N: I'm back with another chapter! Because I feel kinda guilty that I didn't update for nine months.......

Xiao Bao scanned the crowd. Apparently, all members of the imperial family were supposed to show up at the banquet at some point as a courtesy. He hadn't seen any of those who had participated in his clan's massacre and despaired.

Were those that planned against his clan really all dead? Could he really not exact revenge?

Just as he felt despondent, the Emperor's grandfather, a former emperor, stepped out slowly, assisted by several servants. Xiao Bao froze.....and then a rapd killing intent rose up from within him. It's him!!! That crown prince who took everything from me!!

Xiaoyao sensed a faint killing intent and looked to see Xiao Bao seething with rage. Oh dear. Xiao Bao has to reign in his temper before things become bad.....

Xiaoyao grabbed Xiao Bao's left arm and squeezed to try and ground him. Xiao Jin did the same to his right arm and the force of them together snapped Xiao Bao out of it.

"It hurts....." He complained quietly.

"Then you should know why we did that!" Xiaoyao whispered.

Xiao Jin rolled his eyes, "This is why I call you a brat. You're not even able to reign in your emotions."

Xiao Bao pouted cutely and turned away from them.

Xiaoyao and Xiao Jin sighed.

........

"So, Xiaoyao, about what you were saying before.......you can give me a body?"

"Hm? Oh, yeah. I can. Why?"

"Well, I was thinking that after we finish business here, I would like one."

"Okay." Xiaoyao agreed easily. "Would you like the body to look just like yours? Which reminds me......why was your hair blond? I can see your soul's form and it doesn't reflect. Also, normally, humans in this region have black or brown hair."

"Ah.....when I was on the run from my enemies, I ate a pill that could change the color of my hair permanently. It was a random choice what color hair it'd be and well. It became blond."

"I see. You must have been shocked."

"Indeed I was." Lianhua replied miserably.

Xiaoyao gave a laugh. "Anyway, this banquet is kinda boring. Should I go and cause trouble again? I was having fun with that Nalan girl."

"You mean having fun toying with her like a cat to a mouse." Lianhua deadpanned.

"You got me there." Xiaoyao sipped her drink. "Oh, right. You seem to get along with Xiao Jin quite well. What do you think of him?"

"Hm. Hard-working. Loyal. Good at cooking and cleaning. Good at housework. Hm......kind. Sometimes not good at expressing his feelings."

"He expressed them plenty with me!" Xiaoyao exclaimed.

"Because you're different."

"Of course I'm different. I've been annoying him for several millennia!"

"Right, right. With you around, there's never a dull moment." Lianhua declared.

"......Is that supposed to be a compliment or an insult?"

"Take it however you please."

"Then it was a compliment!"

"Then I declare it an insult."

"Lianhua!" Xiaoyao complained.

Lianhua only smiled with mirth. "Speaking of dull moments, Xiaoyao, I'm curious. Were you always so cheerful and mischievous?"

"Hm? ....Ah. No. When I was younger, I was a lot more mature."

"What an......odd statement. Usually you'd become maturer with age."

"Yeah. Well, I suppose it would have to do with my cre-- my father."

"Your father?"

"Mm. He is.....strict. He always told us that no matter how much power we have, we should be mindful of it and how it affects those around us. He really kept me in line."

"What about now?"

"My father let my sister and I leave to go explore the world and know of the people outside the confines of our space."

"Sister? Confines?"

Xiaoyao paused. "I have an older sister who, because of my mistakes, is now stuck guarding a certain place. Anyway, yeah. We were confined within a certain space my father created until we could get a handle on out powers."

"Interesting." Hei Lianhua sensed the somber mood and changed the subject. "How did you meet Xiao Jin?"

"Oh, this, I remember well. One day, when he was a child, I saw him injured, took a look at his abilities and decided I should save him."

"........"

"I was bored, what can I say?"

"Xiaoyao, what if he was dangerous?"

"I'd done this several times before and those that tricked me were killed when I found out they were playing with me."

"........"

"Besides, it worked out well!"

"Why didn't I expect anything less of you......."

"Hey!"
