Hey guys! This is my first book so don't kill me if it's bad. Enjoy!!!

-Chapter 1

"BEEP BEEP BEEP GET UP RACHEL!"

I let out a moan then look at the clock.

"OMG, I have 20 minutes to get ready!" I scream.

In the morning I have to take a shower, get dressed and apply makup. Addie, my BFF/sister, used up the warm water in the morning though. Great.-_-

"Oh yea, Rachel, I broke our alarm clock cause STUPID JUDGES didn't pick STUPID LAUREN to win STUPID X-FACTOR! Sooo I kinda threw it at the wall. Sowy."

Addie gives me the puppy dog face. I don't know how she does it, but it works every time.

"Uggh, fine I forgive you, but you have to buy me a new one."

"Deal."

-After Class

Usually when I get home from class, I watch the X-Factor on the couch with a cup of coffee, but today I got a little hungry.

While I was in town the other day, I saw this really cute shop, and I think it was a...bakery? I don't know but I should go check it out. I'm really in the mood for a scone now after a tiring day at school.

I grab my keys ont the kitchen table and begin to walk out the door.

"Bye Addie, I'm going out to a new bakery I saw in town."

"Ok, OH get me a scone pwease."

Damit she's giving me the puppy dog look. I knew she was going to ask that.

"I hate you." I say to her with a straight face.

I saw her smile out of the corner of my eye. Right before I walk out the door, I hear her again.

"Thank you!"

"Yea Yea, I know."

As I walk in the bakery, I hear a little bell ring and everyone in the shop looks at you. Thats a little creepy. There are not very many people in the bakery, but I like the place. The place is small but very cute. The first thing I noticed in the shop was the smell. It smells like dough and a hint of assorted fruits.

"Hello." the woman behind the bar says.

I push a peice of my hair out of my face and respond with a simple "Hi."

Most of the workers are older and all female. A different woman comes up from behind the bar.

"What would you like today?" she asks

The woman has a very thick accent.

I point down at a plate full of steaming scones behind the glass.

"May I have two scones please?"

The woman replies with a nod.

As she is getting the scones in a bag, I look around the shop a little bit more. I could get used to this place.

"Two scones that will be... three pounds."

I pay her, grab the bag and walk out the door. I sit in the car and listen to the radio while eating my scone. In my back pocket I hear a noise. I turn off the radio and see who is calling me. Its my dad.

I am so excited to talk to him, because we don't really talk that much. He never really talks to mom that much either cause they got a divorce when I was three. My dad is a director for plays and some minor movies. He told me when I was thirteen that we were going to live with a friend of his in England. Thier daughter's name was Addie and so we grew up together. After a year my dad left me to travel the world, and now I'm living with Addie.

"Hi dad!" I probably really hurt his ear drums.

"Hi baby. Listen, your mom wanted to know if you have a part time job yet. I honestly don't care cause if you need money, you know that I am always willing to offer."

"Umm no I don't yet. And I know you have money dad, but I kinda want to make my own money."

I can hear him sigh heavily in the phone.

"Ok, well then do you have a job?"

I am distracted by a sign on the door of the bakery. A brilliant idea popped into my head.

"No, not yet." I say with a smile on my face.

I continue to hear him talk into the phone. I am too distracted by the sign to listen. I happen to hear him  regreting my decision though.

He sighs again into the phone.

"Ok well I love you."

"Huh, oh love you too dad." All the words rush out of my mouth.

After I hang up the phone, I get out of the car and walk back into the bakery.
