Jack
We walked up to the door and Jonah knocked on it. Behind the door we heard shuffling then it opened up.
"Hi can I help you?" A girl around our age asked. She seemed oddly familiar. There was another voice.
"Hey Tate who's at the door?" Wait. Tate? A boy walked up to the door. He was tall. No no no it can't be. It started to get harder to breathe.
Jack stop calm down you can't have an anxiety attack in front of them
I cant calm down. What if Eben's still the same as last time
You can do it just stay calm
I tried to calm myself down, but it was no use. My hands were shaking and I kept staring at them.
"Jack I need you to calm down." I heard Jonah's voice say softly.
"Wait. Jack? Jack Avery?" Tate said. Slowly I backed up. I have to get away.
"Oh so it's him." Eben said. Then as I was about to run Jonah took me in his arms and we fell to the ground. I was still shaking and struggling.
"Pl-ease l-let me-e g-go." I cried out. Jonah put our chests together and his arms wrapped securely around me.
"Shhh, copy my breathing." He whispered. I focused on his breathing and was following it. My cries died down and I was breathing normally now. Jonah helped me back up and then I realized the scene I made. There was now instead of two people there were five. Not a great first impression.
"S-orry." I choked out. A boy with blond hair came up to me.
"It's alright. The good thing is, is that you're okay." He said. I cracked a little smile.
"Jack. Please I wanna talk." Tate said. I ignored her and walked right past her into the house with the others. We sat down on the couch.
"So your name is Jack?" A boy with ocean blue eyes said. I nodded my head, "I've seen you in the store a lot." I took a deep breath and looked over at Jonah. He gestured me to tell them.
"I-I was-I was. Homeless." Shocked faces were all what I saw.
"Didn't you have anyone to go to?" The blond asked. I shook my head no.
"What happened to your parents?" A boy with rosy cheeks asked. I don't know if I can trust them enough to tell them what I've been through. Only Jonah though, I know I can trust him.
"I c-can trust you guys...right?" I asked. They all nodded their heads. Then I began to explain.
"So umm, years ago my mom told me to go upstairs so she can talk to my. Dad. I did go upstairs but I grew curious and went back downstairs. And heard them arguing. What I found out was my dad would beat my mom. She couldn't handle it and said she was leaving," a tear rolled down my face, "I peeked around the corner to see my dad smacking her across the face, so I acted quick and helped her. Helping her got me a fist to the face in return. After that day when she left, there's been everyday beatings. Every time left bruises all over my body and scars. Then when it came to finally tell them that I was-" I stopped thinking back to the memory when Tate and Eben visited. No I can't tell them. They'd just make fun of me.
"Tell then you was what?" The blond asked. I shook my head.
"I'm right here Jacky." I felt a hand go on my thigh. I looked up to see Jonah. I took a deep breath and continued.
"Tell them that I was...gay," I looked at their expressions, none of them had a shocked or disgusted look, "my sisters. They supported me, but my dad didn't. He yelled in my face, shattered my phone called me names. And kicked me out. I had nowhere to go. No one to call, no money. That's why I stole from the gas station." I finished looking up at Jonah and the blue eyed boy. Their eyes showed sympathy.
"I'm sorry Jack." The blond said. They brought me into a group hug. Including Eben. It's kinda nice having your old friends back. Even though he hurt me. All is forgiven.

We chatted for a while. I've learned the blond is Corbyn, the blue eyed boy is Daniel, and the kid with rosy cheeks is Zach. They're nice and chill guys.
I haven't seen Tate for a little. Curious to where she was because I wanted to talk to her.
"Where's Tate?" Corbyn pointed towards the backyard. I quietly thanked him and headed back there. I found her laying down on the ground with headphones it staring at the sun setting sky. I laid down next to her. She noticed my presence and took out one of her earbuds.
"Oh-uh-hi." She stuttered.
"Hey," I said. We went back to staring at the sky. Talk to her just tell her you're sorry.
"Tate?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry." I looked over at her confused face.
"For what?" She asked. Come on you gotta grow some balls.
"Sorry for everything. For lashing out at you when you did nothing wrong." I spoke.
"No it's my fault Jack. I tried to get him to stop but I just couldn't. I'm sorry I didn't even bother to talk to you again. It's my fault." She said. Her eyes were glossed with tears. I took her hand in mine. The friendly way, no more than that.
"I forgive you." She slightly smiled at me.
"Are we good?" She asked.
I nodded, "we're good" she gave me an earbud to listen to the music. I put it in my ear. This is the first time in years listening to music.
I closed my eyes enjoying having people who are nice. The song flowing through the headphones.
People that love me
