the night was finally over and brad and yourself were currently making your way down the hallway of your apartment complex to your flat. as you approached the room, you noticed a girl waiting outside the door. you assumed it was probably one of your neighbours who had just locked themselves out and was waiting for you to get home since you had their spare key in your room.

'out late tonight?' the girl asked as she walked over to brad and placed her hand on his arm, only to look over and recognise you standing next to him, hand in hand.

'who's this?' you and the mystery girl questioned at the same time, turning your attention to brad. you noticed the look on his face and realised straight away what had happened, you could read his expression like a book, you were a detective after all. his face was red like he was blushing or embarrassed and he began to stutter.

'seriously?' you raised your voice at the man standing next to you, dropping your hand from his and taking a step backwards.

'mila, please, it's okay, it was only a one time thing! you were gone for so long and i got lonely so i thought-' you cut him off.

'so you thought you would just fuck someone else until i got back?' tears started to well up in your eyes, but not because you were upset, because you were so full of rage.

'it's not like that i just-' you held your hand up and shook your head at him and turned towards the other girl, who seemed to be even more confused than you were.

'you have a girlfriend? what the fuck?' she exclaimed, shoving him in the chest. she groaned loudly and shoved past him muttering a 'dickhead' as she kept walking. i ignored the commotion between the two of them as he tried to reason with her and unlocked the door. i stepped into the apartment and made my way to our room, slamming the door shut behind me and locking it. i heard rushed footsteps approaching the door and i watched as the door knob rattled as brad attempted to enter the room. he knocked on the door repeatedly and kept calling out to you.

ten minutes had passed and you unlocked the door, walking straight to the front door to leave, your bag of clothes and other necessities hanging off your shoulder. brad followed you but you ignored him as if he wasn't even there and kept making your way to the front door. as you began to step out, brad stood in front of you, preventing you from leaving.

'get out of my way bradley' you growled at him

'not until you let me explain' he pleaded

'move.' you attempted to walked past him only for him to grab your arms and pull you back towards him, making you very angry. you grabbed him by his wrist and pulled it behind his back, twisting it between his shoulder blades.

'don't fucking touch me' and with that you slammed the front door shut and made your way out of the apartment complex. you had no idea where you were going to go, it was late and you didn't want to wake anyone up, so you made your way over to one of your favourite places to be, the precinct. you were lucky that the night squad was on or else you'd never be able to get in. you stormed through the building and made your way to your desk, looking at the current person who was sitting at your desk, signalling for them to get up and move, which they did. you threw your bag down on the floor and sighed quietly. you were exhausted and you slumped back into your chair, letting your eyes gently close shut.

the sound of a chair hitting the ground woke you up, and you looked in front of you with heavy eyes to find jake lying on the floor next to his desk chair. with all the mess with brad, you had completely forgotten about the night before with jake and you were hoping he had too, you didn't exactly feel like re-visiting that argument, if you could call it that, right now.
