it had been about a week since you and jake had kissed in the evidence locker, and you were a little disappointed that nothing had really come from it. since it happened, jake and yourself had decided to just act like everything was normal. you didn't mutually decide of course, but when jake started acting like it didn't happen, it bothered you so you decided to do the same in return, hoping maybe it would bother him enough that he would speak up about it.

but so far, you had gotten nowhere. admittedly, you and jake hadn't spent that much time together in the past week. you were assigned to a case with amy and he was assigned to work one with boyle. so most of your time was spent apart, even at work. you often found yourself thinking about the kiss, wondering if it would happen again, if it meant anything to jake, and honestly, if it meant anything to you.

you knew you had some feelings for him, but you were still trying to figure out if it was the heat of the moment and your other emotions from the night before coming into play. as much as you thought about it, you could never give yourself a straight answer. and the more you thought about it, the more upset and frustrated you got that jake had started acting like it didn't happen. why would he make that move if he didn't mean it?

you were currently in the undercover car with amy, following a suspect and watching his every move. you were parked on the side of the road and you both sat in the car talking about whatever came to mind.

'this perp is so boring! he's literally doing nothing! eugh, he reminds me of teddy' amy says, pulling a slightly disgusted face at the mention of her newly ex-boyfriend. you laugh at her comment and shake your head, 'no way, this guy is way more interesting than teddy, i didn't see him stop anyone to talk about pilsners' you reply back to her and she throws her head back on her seat and groans. 'please don't remind me' she says.

'do you ever think, what the hell was i thinking? or question your taste in men altogether?' amy begins and you immediately think of jake, i mean what the hell were you thinking? it was obvious he didn't care.  you turn your neck to look at amy and nod your head, 'oh for sure. like, why did i ever do that?' you say to her, keeping jake fresh in your mind. 'see, you get me.' she replies and you both fall silent for a little while. 'i heard about you and brad by the way. i'm sorry he turned out to be an asshole.' you look at her and smile, shrugging your shoulders. you didn't really feel like getting into it too much as you had blocked out most of it and intended on keeping it that way for as long as you could. 'all i have to say about it amy, is that men suck' you both laugh at your comment and amy pitches you an idea. 'we should go to shaw's tonight, you know, celebrate being independent women and getting suuperrr drunk.' you laugh at her suggestion but agree happily, you would never turn down a chance to hang out with all of amy's drunk alter ego's.

'let's do it! i'll get gina and rosa to come too? we'll make it a girls night?' you question. she nods her head eagerly as you quickly whip your phone out to send out a text to the other two girls. 'ooh there he is!' amy points out the perp and you shove your phone back into your pocket and continue working.

it had hit 11pm already and you, rosa, amy and gina were still going strong for the night. you had all done a couple shots and you were currently on your third or fourth beer. you lost track at some point in the night. the others had drank more than you had, although gina and rosa were quite good at holding their alcohol. amy on the other hand, was not. you weren't feeling too drunk but definitely tipsy and confident- the usual side effect that came with you drinking.

you found yourself talking to rosa while gina entertained amy's drunken activities. 'you're going pretty fast on the drinks, i've never seen you drink so much in one go before. are you sure you shouldn't be pacing yourself or some crap?' rosa asks, worried about her friend but seeing she clearly needs to let loose. 'i'm fine! i feel good rosa.' you slur your words a little as you speak and finish the sentence with a hiccup. 'you really don't look it, but that's what we came here for right?' rosa raised her bottle up to cheers and you returned the favour, clinking the top of your bottles together. 'to getting written off!' rosa says with a smile on her face and you repeat after her in a slower manner. she laughs at your demeanour and pulls you over to meet back up with amy and gina who were now dancing together.
