Jade hated herself for hiding her feelings once again. She realized that it just got her nowhere each and every time. The first time, she had ended up losing Perrie and ending up trapped with Liam. This time, she was completely shattered and caught off guard because Perrie felt the exact same way. But she had ruined it.

What made everything so much worse was that her number one distraction was out of town. Liam was miles and miles away and wasn’t even responding to any of her texts. The whole school day she had wished that Liam would have texted her back more frequently so that she could stay occupied. Instead, she found her mind drifting to Perrie during her classes. She couldn’t help it. Perrie had dropped a lot on her and then just left without letting Jade explain herself or attempt to organize her thoughts.

This sucks was the only thought that ran through Jade’s head as she slowly trudged from class to class. She was glad that she didn’t bump into anyone that would try to initiate conversation with her because she knew she would probably just start crying. She didn’t want everyone to think she was an emotional mess, especially Perrie.

Jade had decided that she needed a strong mask now more than ever. She couldn’t show Perrie how much this was affecting her. She knew this wasn’t true, but she saw the current situation as a sort of game. To Jade, the winner of this emotional fiasco was the one who cared the least. As long as she could convince Perrie that she wasn’t dying on the inside, then she’d consider herself a winner.

For the most part the rest of that day, Jade had done a superb job at keeping her mask up at all times. She acted normally around everyone. She carried conversations with many people and they never realized anything was wrong. It was exhausting work for Jade though. She just couldn’t wait to go home and take the mask off. She just needed to let everything out.

Finally, the end of the day came. Jade was proud of herself for staying strong for so long, but she had to admit that she was extremely tired. She was so tired that she figured she would just go home and go straight to her bed. She found extreme happiness in the prospect of just going to sleep right away. She wasn’t even going to do her homework or phone Liam.

Jade had let her guard down though, and it was probably the worst possible time for her to do that. She was just so tired. It hadn’t even really registered with her completely that it was Perrie making her way towards her at the other end of the crowded hallway.

It was also really hard to keep her mask up when she was so positive that she wanted to be with Perrie. She couldn’t do that to Liam though.

Jade was snapped from her thoughts when she realized that those beautiful blue eyes at the other end of the hallway could only belong to one person: Perrie. She didn’t know why, butMY Perrie rang through her mind when she set eyes on the blonde. Perrie wasn’t hers. That thought alone made Jade want to cry.

To add insult to injury, Perrie wasn’t alone. To make it even worse than that, Perrie was with Zayn. And worst of all, she looked completely over the moon with happiness. Jade was surprised Perrie could recover so quickly from her crying state earlier that day.

It made Jade want to cry because she felt completely terrible. She had no one to turn to. Liam was gone. Perrie on the other hand, had Zayn, and she just looked so happy to be with him. Perrie probably wasn’t even giving two shits about Jade because her mind was probably focused on Zayn and Zayn alone.

In that moment, Jade knew that she wasn’t going to go home and fall asleep straight away. She knew there was going to be a fair amount of crying before she would be able to calm herself down enough to drift off to sleep. Jade took her eyes off of Perrie and kept them glued to the floor as she walked past the blonde, so emotionally distraught that she knew tears would be pouring down her cheeks the second she was alone.
