Why I Defend Mabel Pines

so let me get this straight...

when Dipper does things for Mabel, he gets praised...

but when Mabel does things for him, it gets swept under the rug?

When Mabel simply says that she trusts Stan but disobeys Dipper in the process, (but still trusting him too) people screech about how she "betrayed him"...

but when Dipper makes a promise with her, only to break it 5 episodes later, he gets praised for it (plus he doesnt seem to understand WHY she was mad)?

And look at Dipper's face in the pic below. he looks so happy. he might have been too happy to fully process what Mabel said.

When Stan and Ford split apart, people were all "aww why did they have to split?" but when Dipper lets his dream get in the way of his relationship with his sister, they all want him to do it?

When Mabel makes a deal with Bill, everyone flames on her.

but when Dipper and Ford make deals with Bill, everyone ships them to the point where they make extremely ooc smut of them?

also Dippy Fresh. yeah that atm is my only actual problem with her but remember when Ford replaced Stan 3 times? with McGucket, Bill, and Dipper? nobody flames him for that.

a lot of people say she "abuses" Dipper. yeah, playful teasing equals to emotional abuse. my sister makes fun of me a lot but it rarely actually hurts me.

im no SJW, but there is a lot of internalized misogyny in the way a part of this fandom treats Mabel. i mean people were barely blaming Ford for Weirdmageddon, probably because when he first appeared everyone loved him despite him being a jerk to Stan. i guess y'all stanned him because of his looks, and fandoms LOVE hot guys, regardless of whether they're jerks or not. Ford does own up to his mistakes, but this was before the finale, so you know what i mean. and the fact that Dipper and Ford are male is probably the reason why Billdip and Billford are more popular than Mabill. more hot boys to ship together.

i guess what i'm trying to say is, stop hating female characters for things male characters get praised for.

and don't push a ship aside because it's heterosexual (not that i ship Mabill. any ship with Bill is disgusting).

when a female character does something wrong, then be mad all you want. but if a male character does the exact same thing, don't be praising him for it.

and just because they're your favorite character, doesn't mean they've "done nothing wrong". all these characters have flaws which they eventually overcome. that's what makes them human.

Mabel Pines had flaws.
Mabel Pines made mistakes.
Mabel Pines got and gave things.
Mabel Pines owned up.
Mabel Pines changed.
Mabel Pines...is a good person.
