Maddie sat at the end of the bed painting my toe nails as I did my hands. "Okay, I need to know everything." Maddie said excited.

I scrunched up my face. "Everything about what?" She looked at me like I was clueless. "You and Johnny!" She filed my nail.

I sighed. "I mean I don't know!" I said getting nervous just talking about it.

She got up and grabbed a mannequin head. "Oh Johnny! I love you so much." She kisses the mannequin. "Oh my god stop!" I yelled.

"It wasn't like that." I laughed a little. She sat back down and started to paint my toes again, "Then how was it?" She asked.

"Well, we've kissed a couple of times, but I never know what it means.. What if he doesn't like me like that and just.. I don't know kisses me because he feels bad?" I said probably overthinking.

"You actually kissed!" Maddie screamed getting up and dancing. I laughed at her. "You fucking idiot." She laughed along with me.

"Okay! They're done." She says. I sat up and looked at my sparkling red toenails. "Thank you." I smiled at her. She jumped on my bed. "Things have been super good between us." She commented.

I looked at her. "Yeah, I'm really happy about that." I replied. "You know Kenzie.. I know I haven't been for awhile, but I'm always here for you okay? You can tell me anything." She said holding my hand.

"Thank you Maddie. I love you." I said hugging her.

"I love you too! Now let's watch some Netflix." She smiled getting up to grab my remote. "Okay." I agreed.

My phone started to ring. Nessa was calling. "Hey Ness." I said. "Hi Kenzie, I'm surprised you answered so quickly." My face scrunched up, but then I remembered.

The kiss.

It didn't mean anything though. At least that's what Johnny told me before he kissed me.

"Don't worry about it Nessa. It was just for the game, it's okay." I said smiling. "Oh okay. Well there's another party but, this time at Dylan's house." She told me.

Oh my god. I completely forgot about Dylan. He's gonna be there.. Well, of course it's his house.

"Another one? I don't understand why parties are so fun. They're full of drama and people getting upset." I said with attitude.

Maddie turned on the TV.

"No, just because it happened to you once, doesn't mean it's like that for every party! Come on, I need my bestfriend." She said excited.

"Ughhhh." I groaned really not wanting to go. As if  having to see Johnny kiss another girl that wasn't me wasn't hard enough. "Pretty please with no cherries on top because I know you hate them!" She laughs.

"Fine, if you shut up I'll go." I said.

"Yay!! I'll pick you up." She said ending the line.

"Got plans?" Maddie asked me. I shrugged my shoulders, "Yeah, if I even go." I said rolling my  eyes.

"No, no go. This is good for you. I love seeing you communicate and have fun with your friends. It's summer!" She said playing with my hair.

"Fine if you help me pick out an outfit!" I smiled at her. "Of course."

I walked out of the closet wearing the outfit Maddie had picked. "How do I look?" I spun. "Really fucking pretty." She commented.

I ran to her and hugged her. "You're the best."

Things have been really turning around for me. Me and Maddie have been hanging out, my mom hasn't been completely rude and ignoring me, and Johnny kissed me yesterday.

This kiss was different though. I felt so much. My lips tingled when his came in contact with mine.

I looked at my phone. It was seven o' clock in the afternoon.

I looked down about to text Nessa, but then a car honked. "Get in bitch!" She yelled. I fast walked over to her car.

I got into the car and she just stared at me. "You literally look freaking amazing. What the hell." I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, thanks." I laughed. Compliments made me feel weird.. I don't know why.

Me and Nessa went to the front door. The music was so loud I'd be surprised if they heard us. "Open the door losers!" Nessa yelled out.

The door opened. There was Dylan. "Hi Nessa, Um hey Mackenzie." He sent me a smile. I nodded, "Hi."

He led us inside, "Um, have fun. Most of us will be in the living room. Drinks on the table, chips in the kitchen, pizza on the counter.

"Thanks." Nessa said smiling.

I sat down on the couch playing with my nails. "Johnny boy!" I heard as soon as the door opened.

My heart started to beat super fast. I thought it was going to fly out of my chest. Johnny walked into the living room area where I was.

He smiled at everyone until his eyes fell onto mine. He slowly walked over. "Hey." He let out.
I got a drink and downed it.

I let out a cough. "Shit."

"Are you okay?" He asked me laughing. "Um here have one!" I gave him one. He downed it just as fast and coughed too.

"Fuck, that's strong." He commented.

Me and Johnny sat on the couch practically dead. Everyone else went upstairs to go play truth or dare.

Dylan stopped and looked at us. "Kenz, wanna be my partner?" He smiled.

"She's fine right here." Johnny said sounding drowsy. Dylan walked away slowly, "Okay."

I laughed a little. "Thanks." I felt him grab a hold of my hand. He then looked at me. "I'm gonna thin the mood but.. you look hot tonight." His face red.

"Thank you. You look nice." I smiled.

He leaned in closer lifting an eyebrow. "Just nice?" He said staring at my lips, then back to my eyes. "Mhm." I said.

"Mackenzie.." He said. "Yes Johnny?" He leaned in closer. "I um." He closed the space between us.

His lips softly touched mine. The kiss was slow since hence we both had alcohol in our system.

"You're the prettiest girl ever." He said lowly. "Stop feeling down, stop thinking about ending your life." He held both of my hands kissing me again.

"Perfect. You're perfect." He mumbled.
