FOUR: GOLD SUNSET

EMILY AND EVELYN WERE STILL fighting. It took Faraday, Sam, Evangeline, and Kira to hold both women back. Ellie sat by Goodnight and Vasquez and all three laughed.

It took Sam talking to Evelyn and Faraday talking to Emily to calm both women down. Emily still continued to glare at Evelyn from across the camp.

When all the others had gone to sleep, Emily took one of her knives and snuck up on Evelyn. She covered her mouth to stifle her screams for Sam. She dragged her down the hill, where the two continued in a bloody battle of combat, guns, and knives. By the end, Evelyn had a cut lip, cheek, forhead, and ear. Her jaw was also bloody.

Emily had been grazed by a bullet in the shoulder and had a split lip. Evelyn screamed a battle cry as she dove at Emily pushing her down the hill. This awoke the girls in the camp except for Emma.

"Shit!" Ellie exclaimed. She saw Evelyn standing by the hill. "What did you do?! Bitch! What did you do?!" Ellie punched her sending her down the hill crashing into Emily who had just gotten up. Evangeline and Ellie attacked Evelyn while Kira and Delia attacked Emily. Edeline sat on a tree branch sighing loudly.

A gunshot sounded across the valley. "What the hell are you doing at this hour?!" Sam shouted at the women. Vasquez, Faraday, Goodnight, and Teddy were behind him frowning. Edeline got up from her seat abruptly.

Emily pushed Delia off of her and helped Evelyn up only to get punched. "I swear!" She shouted running after Evelyn who had run away. She pushed Evangeline out of her way to kick Evelyn's ass again.

"Just let 'em go at it." Kira said as she stood up from her crouched position. "Ain't nothin' to be done 'cept let 'em go at each other 'til they get tired of it. Someone needs to put some reasoning in their heads." She shook her head before dragging Delia with her. Teddy helped Ellie up.

"Thanks." Billy and Goodnight left to follow Delia and Kira. Vasquez led Edeline away with his arm around her shoulders. "My Momma is very strong isn't she?"

"She is. You remind me of her." Ellie blushed. "It's a good thing. You're quite beautiful." Ellie smiled at Teddy's words. "Well, you coming?" Ellie nodded before running after him. Faraday and Evangeline looked at each other. Sam went back to the camp.

"I can sense love between you and Miss Emily. And between Teddy and Ellie."

"And what about you and Vasquez?" Faraday countered.

"Oh, no. His heart is Edeline's." She patted his back before heading back. "Hang in there, Joshua." He sighed before heading back.

By morning, Evelyn and Emily were glaring at each other through breakfast. Both were bleeding in various places. Joshua held Emily's hand while Edeline held Vasquez's. There was an overwhelming smell of blood.

Jack Horne had tracked them. "Indian! Indian!" Emily got to higher ground. There was an Indian.

Emily aimed her bow with Evelyn having her back and for once the two weren't enemies. "Say the word and I'll shoot his head off." The Indian spoke something in Comanche she understood. It meant attack.

There was another Indian that came from the ledge attacking Evelyn and Evangeline. "Back off bitch!" She spoke in Comanche. The girl cocked her head before menacingly nearing Emily. "Shit!" She jumped off the ledge knocking over Joshua in the process. "Sorry!" The girl and her engaged in a knife fight. "Oh come on! I'm running on two hours of sleep and whiskey! Give me a break!" She shouted in Comanche. The girl's knife struck the rock right beside Emily's head.

"You are a talented fighter." The girl spoke.

"Oh come on!" She spoke in English. The girl kicked her into the rock causing her to fall unconcious.

"Hey!" Evangeline said running towards the girl distracting her from Emily. Faraday slid over to Emily's unconscious body.

Evangeline and Delia were engaged in a battle with the girl.

Emily's pulse was still strong. Emily groaned and her flitted open. Evangeline managed to get the girl down. Emily stood leaning on Faraday. Evelyn took her other side. Ellie and Emma cowered behind Teddy and Jack.

"Joshua, I can walk. I'm just dizzy." Joshua nodded and kissed her forhead. Sam offered his gun to Vasquez who had shoved Edeline behind him. Sam spoke in his best Comanche to the Indian. Sam turned back towards them.

"What did he say?" Jack asked.

"He said they're with us. Girl included."

"Hello? Are we all just going to ignore the fact that bitch almost killed me and Evangeline and nearly killed Emily. I for one am not gonna forgive that easily."

"And he also spoke in Comanche the word attack before she attacked so I think we can safely assume she was gonna attack us either way." Emily concluded. "Evelyn's right." A moment of silence hovered over the group.

"I'm sorry. Did you agree with me?" Evelyn laughed.

"I wanna take it back now." Emily shook her head.

"Nope. I'm gonna remember this day." Evelyn joked.

"Told ya." Kira whispered to Goodnight. He smirked and kissed the top of her head.
