Ron and Hermione avoided each other for the rest of the day. Draco wasn't in any of the other classes. Hermione sat by herself and tried to leave every class early to avoid Ron and Harry. At the end of her last class, Draco was waiting out beside the door for Hermione.

"Are you still mad?" He asked stepping in front of her.

"Draco I told you not to talk to me anymore, that class will be out in any second. You need to go." Hermione snapped stepping past him.

"Fine I'll go, but just meet me in front of the old common room portrait tonight at midnight." He begged following beside her.

"If it will make you go away, fine." She gave in.

Draco grinned because he thought he had won. As he walked away, he glanced back at her to see if she had pepped up a little bit. He was shocked to see that Fred was standing beside her, staring him down. Why was Fred all of a sudden protective over her? It doesn't make any sense. Draco had to do something about these Weasley's.

"What did he say to you?" Fred asked guiding Hermione to the courtyard.

"Nothing important. He said he would leave me alone." Hermione answered looking at the ground.

"If he doesn't, I'm going to have to intervene. You don't need to be involved with a Malfoy." Fred threatened.

"You will do no such thing, Weasley. I don't need you to get involved. I appreciate the help, but I'm asking you to leave it alone now" Hermione begged

Fred shook his head "If you think that is best, Hermione. Just don't do anything else that could get you in trouble. I have to go to Quidditch practice. Please don't talk to him anymore." Fred patted her on the shoulder and headed towards the Quidditch Field.

Hermione studied in the courtyard for a few hours and then headed to the common room. She was hoping she wouldn't run into Ron and Harry on their way back from Quidditch practice. As she entered the common room, she could hear a lot of commotion. Ginny, Blaine, and several other Gryffindors were huddled around the fire discussing something intensely. When they saw Hermione walk in, the room grew silent. Hermione made her way and sat beside Ginny.

"What's going on Gin?" Hermione asked wondering why everyone was staring at her.

"Wait, you don't know? Tell me you're joking" Ginny looked at her accusingly.

"I don't know what you're talking about? Why is everyone staring at me?" Hermione snapped looking around

"Uh... Well... Ron and Fred are both in the infirmary." Neville stuttered

"What?? Why?? What happened" Hermione gasped

"Hermione, they got into a fight over you." Ginny said staring at her

"Wait, over me? Why?" Hermione couldn't believe this

"I found a note on the floor, I thought Ron had written it because I recognized the handwriting. When I asked him why he would do something so cheesy, he demanded to see the letter so I showed him. He got all red and stomped off. Apparently, Fred had written the letter to you. It was Fred's handwriting." Ginny explained annoyed

Hermione couldn't look at anyone in the room. Her face was turning cherry red. Did they actually get into a fight over her? Fred wrote the letter? What was she supposed to do? This is the last thing she wanted.

"Ginny I'm so sorry." Hermione apologized

"It's not your fault they're daft. Fred gave Ron a chance to tell you how he felt and he never did. He got tired of waiting. Ron shouldn't be such a hothead." Ginny stated, rolling her eyes.
