it takes a while, a couple of weeks. you were moved to the top of the list, you got your service dog. his name is loki. he's a doberman pinscher.
you've missed a lot of school, but you took classes with a tutor so you are pretty caught up. today is the last day of the one week training program. you're still not doing well, but loki helps out with that. you've learned how to take care of your service dog, when to praise, and how to do commands. your mom helps you out with some of them and you feel wanted again. this dog is gonna be everything to you.
"sit." you say calmly and loki immediately sits down.
"down." you say and your dog follows.
you smile as you put your phone on the ground next to you and step away.
"loki, phone." you point at the object on the ground and loki gets up and retrieves it, bringing it to you.
you smile and kneel down with your precious pet and pet him on the head.
"i love you." you whisper as you press your head against his forehead.
he playfully yelps, sending an "i love you," back and you smile even more, this is the happiest you've ever been.
