Shadow was lined up with all the other sleek, black, female's.
As the young alpha walked in the room all the nightfurys bowd except the females who nearly fainted as the alpha ran his paws along their heads and bodys inspecting them. She was last in the line so she got really fidgety as he reached her.
"your gorgeous" he muttered as he reached for he tail he and looked at her dark underbelly
"hmmmm" he mumbled running his paws along her head looking at the details "your face is the most beautiful thing ever. What would you say if you had my children?" Shadow said nothing. "Need more time? I will let you think about it." He walked up to the high platfom. "I have chosen my mate! She has agreed to carry on the alpha species!" The crowd clasped as he beckoned to Shadow.
Shadow staird at him. She haven't agreed to this.
Two guards pushed her forwards. Ooo's and Ahhh's from the crowd as she walked by.
----------------------several hours later
The alpha who's name was Blue led her through her new home it was nighttime by the time they reached the bed room. All she could think about was leaving the ridge.
"This is the bed" he jestured towards a large flat stone.
Suddenly Blue tackled her onto the bed. He held her down as he grinned.
"You could easly carry three eggs in here" he said, rubbing his front paws over her stomach. He pushed her further down as she protested. "You will tell me if you will by next week or ill chose for you."
He let her go and Shadow's mind was buzzing.
"Mom! Mom! Guess what!? The alpha chose me!" Shadow yelled, bursting through the door.
Her mother dropped the roasted salmon and ran to hug her. "That's amazing, sweety! Now I can take you to berk!"
Nightshade, who had snagged the salmon when mom had dropped it, said "whats berk?"
Mom sat us down and explained
"Long ago when the alpha was just a hachling, he had an younger
brother. Now, you must understand that In the alpha family, the mates can only have one egg in their lives, to make things easier but the mate had two. They had to shun the younger one. But the mother wouldn't kill him. She ran away with him. And that was the last anyone ever saw them."
Shadow was horrified. She had wanted to have a big family. Of six or under.
She was going to need to talk to blue.
