Same old routine every single day it seemed. Wake up, feed Morty and myself, go to work, go to work again, go home.

That was the way my days went no matter what. It was boring....it was.... lonely.

So I put out a advertisement for a roommate, silently wishing that maybe whoever it was just so happened to be my soulmate.

But, no such luck.

My new roommate was a rather attractive Jamaican accented guy named Rory. Rory was tall with very dark skin and beautiful honey brown eyes. He kept his hair cut short but styled nicely, though he would be nice to have as a soulmate, he just... wasn't.

But Rory was incredibly nice and shared my love of cheesy romance movies, so every night since he'd arrived we had a tradition of watching a cheesy romance movie with Morty and a bowl of popcorn after work.

It'd been about a week since I'd met Rory now and we had decided to go out to eat instead, rather than wait around inside all day.

I let Morty out of my apartment before grabbing my keys and turning around, my sundress billowing at the movement.

" Come on, slow poke! Let's go!" I playfully called to Rory.

Since I wasn't as lonely anymore and Rory was fun to hang out with, I'd started becoming more open and playful around Rory, whoever his soulmate was, was lucky, that's for sure.

" Hold your horses! A guys gotta look good when he goes out! I could potentially meet my soulmate, you know... Oh... I'm sorry, Layla... I forgot... I'll just shut up, now!" Rory made a zipping motion with his fingers which made me chuckle quietly.

" It's fine, Rory. Come on." I replied which made him smile once again as he offered his arm to me which I gladly accepted as we exited the apartment.

Rory had just turned twenty so he was still young and hopeful, as everyone was at that age.

As I had once been at that age....

" Happy birthday, M'lady." Rory said as we walked but I only frowned.

" Thanks Rory." I replied quietly.

Another year come and gone and I'd still yet to find my soulmate. Needless to say I was getting sick of people looking at me with pity.

That's it, I'm starting a tinder.
