ATARAXIA CHRONICLES: FIRE (Development)

The tall guy and the miner

It tells the origin of Tasal the Titan and how he meet with Dhen the Metalist and became partners.

1. Being the son of a Captain, Tasal was feared by other kids. Everybody assumed he being bigger than other kids his age was a product of heritage. It's common sense that gladiator class warriors have big frames and are monstrously strong. At 6 he was the size of 11 years, and a good future in the army was expected from him. But he was more a mom's kid.

2. At 8 he was taller than normal grown up men. The foreseeable future in the army became an omen. His mother was struggling with food gathering since she doesn't want him to neglect his training to work since she said he has to be a great soldier like his father. But more than 2 years had passed since he left to war, and wary eyes possed over her gradually.

3. At 11 he was 3 meters tall and can chop down a tree in a single swing, using a two handed axe as if one handed. People was divided in owe or fear of him. He trained in the near forest and sold the trees he chops down and the occasional peel of the monsters whose dared to enter his training ground. This way helped his mother with the expenses and the maintenance of his axes. Many people tried to believe that Tasal was already 15, a proper man. But his mother never allowed him to pass the night at the forest as the rest of the woodchucks.

4. After many years news of the captain coming back from the war was heard. But at the time Tasal was 5 meters tall and people was untrusting him. They moved to the outskirts of the city in a 2 stories tall hut. Under the excuse of not having space for him to grow even bigger. She always explained his height by saying he's training since very young age to be a champion (condecorated soldier) in a very hard gladiator class training. But people could not believe that anymore and was accusing her to mate with monsters in the absence of her husband and giving birth to a half monster.

5. His mother was very caring with him but he was aware she was overwhelmed with cooking for him even with him providing. So he insisted on buying the food himself. So she give him a haircut so his metalic gray hair doesn't hides his ears. The biggest prove that he's human was his human shaped ears. In the end it was a bad idea.

6. The nobles were passing through the city and the driver was so shocked when saw Tasal that he crashed the carriage. A noble kid was throw to his death under the feet of the pulling jorces. But Tasal saved him catching him in the middle of the air, all the potatoes he was holding in a sack disperses over the road. The driver doesn't want to lose face and accused the titan of attack the jorces. He was immediately surrounded by shacking guardsmen to be imprisoned but no jail could fit him.

7. He was tame and follow up with them. Used how he was to people be afraid of him, he maintain calm trying to don't talk much. Since his very deep voice would be taken as an aggressive tone. But nobles was very afraid of him and wanted to execute him. But nothing could they do against him. Once the night came he just leaves since his mother doesn't let him sleep outside. The guards tried to pinch him with lances but he just takes them and throw them away and kept going.

8. Nobles and guards felt diminished after people started to gossip the next day. So they made him their enemy. They planned to ride his hut at the next night and kill him. But that night during the ride he was late from the forest and his father the champion captain finnaly came and stopped them.
But then the nobleman behind everything appears and tells him of the shame since people accused his wife of being a cheater of the worst, mating with a monster.
She defended herself but she doesn't negate that the kid they had, he had a hard time fitting this so tall hut, so the captain was afraid of being involved against the nobles when they had a case against her wife. So he depreciated her. He was now a general and could not risk his new position for a woman and a monstrous kid. It got settled when the noble offered him his daughter as a new wife once she was executed for her sins.

9. Tasal break from outside full of bruises and a broken axe in hand defending his mother. The noble run leaving the Mission to the new general to slay the giant monster and bring the prisoner to the castle. The guards was no much for him even hurt, he overpowered them. But a champion gladiator and his wide blade stopped him. His mother asking him to leave and don't fight him. Then he realized who was him and in that moment he got unconscious by a hit of the scabbard.

10. He wakes up chained to a 2 trees size stake or wood pillars in the plaza and her mother in tatters tied to a different stake surrounded by firewood of greasy smell. She's sentenced to be burnt for her sins and nobody claimed her innocence in the crowded plaza. Only the roaring voice of the usually silent Tasal was heard there. Next to the noble was his father the now general with the noble's daughter by his arm. His mother trying to calm Tasal, explained that it's normal to want a better wife once a soldier gets a higher rank. She was giving a goodbye, Giving him permission to use all his strength during training and to sleep in the forest. And giving him a farewell with all the love she can. "For now you should be a great man on your own, now not like your father but the best you can be." That was the words she forced herself to say enduring the flames that was burning her before die. When her screaming stopped and fire covered her totally Tasal enraged and trying to get free with a murderous sight on the noble and his own father. He was fighting the guards trying to kill him with his limited movements but wondrous strength so his father got down armed with his broadsword and saying "die already monster" tried to decapitate him. But Tasal was out of himself and stopped the blade with his teeth, take it from his hand and smashing the handle into his father's head and later throw the sword out there where the noble was. The noble's daughter hided behind her father making him unable to flee and both got slashed. Still struggling to be freed sight the crowd and they panicked running amok. In a full of rage burst he screaming with all his strength a magic energy blast illuminated the night wiping out the plaza and most of the small city and castle. People thouth that a divine punishment fell or that a mage send that blast from distance to save the city from the giant monster, but he just got freed and he was alone, the dust cloud hide him, running to the forest holding in his arms a sharred burnt trunk with the remains of his mother. His father's wide blade on his back had become pitch black, as his burnt heart.
