Tara slowly trudged into the school entrance. It was the first day back after the Christmas break and the weather was perfectly shite. The grey clouds rumbled in the back ground at the smell of wet Tarmac hung in the air. Grabbing her satchel she joined the massive crowd of teenagers heading towards the main entrance. Normally Tara loved school but not today. There were massive crowds of reporters outside the school gate making it near impossible to get in. All because of that damn Alex Cross. He was finally back at school after filming in wales for God knows how long. Everyone at school was buzzed for his return as he was mega famous and horribly good looking. It made Tara eyes hurt at how attractive he was.
Shaking her head, she tried to forget about Alex. She'd gone to school with him for 3 years and she knew he was a rich tosser. Sadly, she had a lot of lessons with him so seeing was going to be inevitable. When she finally made to her locker she twists in the code. It opens to reveal a very ordinary locker. It just had her books in and a spare makeup kit because every girl needs one of those. She looks at her schedule quickly at sees she has Bio next. Gathering her books she hears a surge in the level of squeals. He's here. Sighing she slams her locker door closed and heads over to the science block. This was gonna suck donkey's balls.
Once she got to the lab she found that the only person there was Mr Frewick. He had his head buried in some biology magazine and don't even notice her walk in. Taking her normal seat in the back, she pulls out her battered copy of 'Wuthering Heights' and instantly becomes engrossed. Over the next 5 minutes, the student begin to trickle in slowly. Gossiping about whatever it is that people gossip about. Boys. Sex. TV. Stuff. When the bell finally rings she reluctantly puts down her book and bring out the advanced bio books.
"Ok class. Today we're dissecting these poor amphibians" He hold up a dead frog by the leg. "Now can anyone tell me why we cut up these friendly creature instead of, say, a bird?" Because frogs has an anatomy similar to out own, she thinks silently.
"No-one knows?" He says, seeming disappointed. He shrugs his skinny shoulders and opens his mouth to explain but before he can, a voice from the door speaks out. " A frog has an anatomy similar to our own." The mystery man has a deep soothing voice with just a slight air of arrogance. Alex.
"Very well done Mr Cross. But next time if we can have you on time please." He just nods before scanning the room for seats.
"If you'll please take a seat by Miss Lincoln. That'd be lovely."
To anyone watching, it would've looked as if Tara didn't give the slightest shit about it. But inside, it seemed to Tara as if hell had frozen over. She had no reason to be so nervous. But she was. She was extremely nervous. For one reason and one reason only.
Tara was terrified of boys.
Of course, the only reason for this fear was because of her father and the ungodly things he would do to her but she still was fearful of any contact with someone of the opposite sex. She was even slightly hesitant of her teachers. So when the sex God named Alex Cross walked over to ward her, smirking slightly she froze. Help me Lord.
...................................................................................
She didn't have to look so scared, Alex though to himself as he made his way over to the girl in the corner. Her face was hidden behind a fringe of dark hair but the second he walked in she'd frozen. He hadn't wanted to be late to his first lesson but the press had mobbed him all the way until he it to the main door of the school. He'd then got lost and finally made it to his bio lesson just in time to answer the first question. As he slid into his seat next to the girl she tensed up even. "Hey," he whispered softly so that only she could hear him. "I don't bite. You can look at me you know." Finally he just gave up and leant back in his stool. "Fine. You don't know what you're missing though."
5 minutes late and she still hadn't talked to him. And he was getting pissed. "Will you at least tell me your name!" He says, sounding exasperated. Not expecting an answer.
"Tara," she whispers in a soft voice. "Tara Lincoln."
Finally! "Well Tara. It's lovely to meet you." she didn't say anything else the rest if the lesson and in the end he gave up trying to get her talk and entertained himself by doodling in the margin if his notebook. When the bell ended he caught sight of her note book. The page was filled with neat notes. "Jesus Christ, you took a lot of notes!" he exclaimed. Suddenly wishing he had too. She grunts softly before looking up at him for the first time.
His breath caught in his throat. She was stunning. And not in that obvious in your face way, but in a innocent, unassuming way. With poker straight long dark hair, a pierced nose and full lips. Her face was full of contrasts. She had pale skin and molten gold eyes but dark lashes that cast dark shadows over her face. She also had a lot of makeup under one of her eyes and on her cheek. It was barely there but he noticed it because she also had 3 stitches on the tip of her angular cheeks. "You're staring at me. why are you staring at me?" she says her voice full of nervousness. Alex looks away, and rubs the back of his neck with his hand. "Why did you take so many notes?" he blurts when he realised that he had no witty comeback. She smirks and he looks down.
"Why didn't you take any?" she asks before walking out of the room without a second glance.
Well that was unusual. Usually girls would fall at his feet. Instantly answer his question. Flirt with him. As he walks out of the room he was still a little ruffled. That didn't usually happens. "Alex!" he looks up. His trance broken. "Yeh." he says looking around for the source if this voice. It was Andie. Her blond curls bounce as she sashays towards me, planting a kiss on his cheek. "So, how are you honey?" She says, pulling him into a bone crushing hug. Alex pats her on the back and she finally releases him. Sliding her hand to his waist she pulls him toward the exit. Sighing, he slides his arm over her shoulders because it was what he was supposed to do. She was the most popular girl at 6 th form. He was the most popular guy. It'd be wrong if they didn't go out.
"Oh you know. Tired. That making movies business is tiring." She laughs much louder the she should of seeing as the joke was pretty crap. "Oh I've missed you Alex. You're SOO funny!" she says, dragging the O out much longer then necessary. "Mhmm." The rest of the conversation was about her and the netball team. "We might even make into nationals Alex! Isn't it exciting!" he mumbles something, but secretly he was thinking about quiet girls with stitches on their cheeks.
