"But it's cold." Alex moans, looking at Andie in the mirror. "And I might get hypothermia or something and then my mother, who is also my agent, would murder me."

"But garden parties are amazing and that tops looks super hot on you." she whines. The tight t-shirt showed every crease on his stomach. It wasn't that he was fat, far from it. He just didn't enjoy being cold. It totally ruined the mood. He sighs before spinning and planting a kiss on her head. "You'll be the death of me." He whispers, quite literally.

"Woohoo. I knew you'd come around. Now I'm putting on the pool lights. Care to join me?" He shakes his head, hating how much he didn't want to have a party tonight.
"We need to make our relationship official babe. And plus, I know how much you like to party!" she would say, her eyebrows quirking up.
"Well it's more fun when you're single." He mumbles. Slapping his arm playfully she would smile and say "None of that now mister. You're mine now!"

She walks out of her dressing room and puts on a very high pair of black Jimmy Choo's. Her sparkly coral dress hurt his eyes but she would gush about how perfect it was. "My bum looks amazing in it." Alex just had on jeans and boots, his usual attire. Even when Andie had told him it was boring. It was comfy and familiar. Just like his leather jacket that he was on the process of putting on.

"Alex, which one of these switchy thingys puts on the lighty thingys?" She asks from downstairs as he wanders downstairs. "The one on the right." He replies, smirking slightly. The garden area was covered in fairy lights and the pool was lit up. It wasn't raining but a layer of water covered everything making it slippery. Her iPod was docked into the massive speakers, blaring out loud music. The school crowd was just about to arrive as the game had finished. The home team had won 5-3 so it was gonna be good vibes tonight. Everything was perfect. Except...

"Ooo. They're here!" Andie says, pulling him out of his daydream. Sure enough, people were just arriving in the masses. Soon, the party was in full swing. Everyone with a drink in their hand. It was an amazing party. But to Alex, something was missing. Even when his best friend Reggie turned up he was still down. It was then that he put his finger on it. Tara. Ever since she'd walked off after school today, he'd felt disappointed almost. He was really hoping she'd make an appearance, though in his heart he knew she wouldn't.

He was just grabbing a beer when his phone went off. He see's it was his mum so he runs upstairs to where it was quieter to answer it. "Mum? What's up?" he says. A bit confused.

"Ok Alex. This amazing things just kind of happened."

"Oh really. What's that?"

"Michael Bay just called me!"

"No frickin way! What did he say?"

"That he wants to play golf with Cassie. What do you think he said?" she says sarcastically.

"Umm. He has a part in a new movie he's doing that he thinks I'll be perfect for." he says longingly.

"Pretty much. There's a new movie he's filming in England next year and he thinks you'd be brilliant as one of the characters. I've scheduled a meet with him next week in London but, what do you think?" for a second he doesn't say anything.

"Alex?" she say.

"Oh. My. Days. Mum. I. Think. I. Might. Just. Die." He says, not really believing his ears. She chuckles lightly at the other end of the phone but doesn't say anything.
"We'll talk more about it tomorrow. Now go and enjoys your party." And without her line goes dead.

"Dude. What are you doing up here?" Reggie asks, coming into the room 5 minutes later. "I have a meeting with Michael Bay next week."

"Wait. Isn't he that dude that directed Transformers?"
"Uh huh!" Reggie slaps him on the back.
"Mate, that's huge. Well done. Now we must celebrate." Alex walks down the stairs, beaming like a monkey. He wasn't technically allowed to tell anyone about the movie as it wasn't official but he needed to tell someone. When he looked for Andie she was dancing with her best friend Violet outside so he left them to it. Grabbing a beer from the cooler outside, he lets himself smile a true smile. Nothing could ruin his mood now.

Or so he thought.

................................................................

Ring ring, ring ring. "Hello?" Tara says, slightly confused at who would be calling her just before she headed out to work. "Oh Tara hey, it's Luc." Why was her manager calling her?
"What's up? I'm about to leave."
"Um. You're not actually needed tonight. Sorry. I feel kind of crappy. It's just oddly quiet for a Friday night and we don't need you tonight. So we're giving you a night off." Tara feels the air whoosh out of her. She didn't want to stay home tonight. And face her dad.

"Oh well. Sure. I guess if you don't need me then I won't come in."

"Glad you understand. See you tomorrow lunch time." And then the line went dead. Tara looks at her phone. That was irritating. She needed all the money she could get. And she didn't want to spend time around her father anymore then was necessary. Looking around the flat she sighs. She'd already cleaned it to an inch of its life. She had even gotten the duster out and tidied up the sparse shelves. She would have nothing to do all night. Unless.

She could always go to the party. The address was still on her hand and to be perfectly honest she'd never gone to a party before. And it couldn't hurt. Slipping into her room she shakes her head. 'I don't even have anything to wear!' she thinks to herself. 'Except.' Walking over to her small chest of drawers she pulls out her new light wash skinny jeans. They'd been a present to herself for her 18th birthday that no one had celebrated.

She opens her wardrobe then, looking for a top. She could go for a short sleeved t-shirt and a hoodie but it wasn't nice enough. She rummages through until she see it. 'Ahaha. Perfect'. The soft black top was long sleeved and loose but showed enough skin in her shoulder to be almost racy. Almost. Wandering to her makeup bag she adds on some more eyeliner and a pinkish lipstick. She then plaits her hair into a wraparound style that was secured with pins. Perfect.

Tucking in her top she adds a belt and smiles. She looked, to her eyes, almost nice. In a weird kind of way. Completely under dressed for a party but still, pretty in an understated way. She finished it with her doc martins and military jacket. As long as she was back before 1:30 am she'd be ok.

The wind was non existent tonight but it was bitterly cold. Luckily, Andie's house was only a 20 minute brisk walk so before long she was there. It was obvious she was at the right house as it was massive and oozed rich. Also, the thumping music was a dead give away. She walks down the pathway, slightly hesitant and pauses at the door. It was open but she still felt a little off just walking in. But, everyone else got in here the same way so what the hell.

Some rap music was playing through speakers dotted throughout the house but most of the action was happening in the living room and outside. Tara took a minute to appreciate the interior design. Whoever picked out the furniture was very talented. It was perfectly positioned.

As she makes her way to the living room she feels out of place but quickly
Felt better once in the lounge. There was loads of people there. Most of them she recognises from school but some of the faces were new. The patio doors were open and she walks outside. Oddly enough some people had gotten into the pool fully clothed while others just danced around it. By the table people were doing shots off the Hockey captain. There was a pretty intense game of beer pong going on in the outside table and a makeshift dance floor had been formed by the grass.

And there, lounging by the drinks was Alex. As if she'd said his name he looks up and their eyes meet. His eyes widen before he smiles and waves her over. "Tara. I thought you were working!" He says, the alcohol evident on his breath. "So did I. There was a slight change of plan though so here I am!" she says, giving him a small smile. He looks her up and down before giving her a heart stopping smile. "Well, you look great. But you need a drink." He says.

He presses a small shot glass filled with clear liquid into her hand before getting himself one. "I've never done shits before." She confesses, looking at the floor. The glass foreign in her hand. "Oh well. Vodka's always a good way to start a night." He raises the glass and she does the same.

"To Tara. The shots virgin." And then he downs the liquid. Not wanting to seem uncool she does the same. Immediately her throat burns and her eyes water. She coughs a little but recovers her composure quickly. Alex looks at her expectantly. "I think I like vodka." She says finally, a hazy smile growing on her face. He gives her a broad grin.

"More?" he asks, reaching for the bottle.
"More." She nods. Taking her shot of the liquid. "To Alex." She says. "For hosting an awesome party!"
'Well,' she thinks, as her vision softens and her body sways.'this might be fun.'
