Ahh Alexander Gideon Lightwood-Bane gave me a lot of trouble. I wanted to put a song that has all aspects of his personality which needless to say was nearly impossible. Between songs about him being gay like "follow your arrow" (see the double meaning) by Kacey Musgrave. Or his practicality "Science And faith" by the script. And I wanted to include his brotherly side. But in the end, I chose the song (drum roll please)........ "naked" by Avril Lavigne.
The first paragraph of the song describes someone who's "putting on a face" "doesn't matter how I feel inside" which is something that resonated deeply with me when I thought of Alec hiding who he really was for so long.
The rest of the song is Alec being "naked" completely emotionally exposed to Magnus like he's never been before anyone.
