The leaves of trees begin to slowly change colour, dry up and eventually fall. The cool air that's somewhat dry which signifies the end of summer and a new beginning to these trees.
She watched from the balcony, with a cup of her usual black coffee in hand as the leaves fall off from the tree. These trees are letting go of their pasts, and are ready for a new beginning with newer and fresher leaves. She wished letting go of the past will be as easier as these trees shedding their leaves in autumn or starting all over will be as easy as the trees forming new leaves in spring.
With a sigh, she clutched the light sweater she was wearing tightly to her body as the cool dry breeze swept through her slender body.Draining the last bit of her coffee, she set the mug down on the small table behind her and fixed her gaze back on the scenery in front of her. As much as she hates to admit, the coming of autumn reminds her of something,of somewhere and most espacially of someone she is trying to supposedly leave in her past.
It seems like every step she takes forward towards letting go of her past, she takes more than two steps backward and fall head first into the dark pit called past.
With a frantic shake of her head, she glanced at her phone and noticed that it's almost time for class. She immidiately took the coffee mug with her back into the apartment through the kitchen door. In a haste, she dropped the mug in the sink with the other used plates making a mental note to herself to wash them when she gets back from school.Half an hour later, she was done getting ready and carrying along with her everything she will need for the day in her bag. Eventhough, she might be late for the class, she decided to walk instead of waiting for the next bus at the bus stop since she has missed the first bus. And more so,walking alone as the cool dry air hits her face seems to be a pretty much better idea than having to be in a bus full of commotion from noisy students of which she is still not much familiar with a very good number of them.
She continued to enjoy her own company and lucky for her,the class hasn't started yet on her arrival but on the other hand, the theatre was already full with students so getting a seat will be a hard nut to crack on.
Scanning through the place in an attempt to locate a vacant seat for herself which seemed futile, she finally gave up and lean on the wall for support as she stands while bringing out the materials for the class from her bag. With a clear of his throat, the professor,an elderly man in his late fifties if her assumption is right began his class. With every body's attention on the professor, the class remained quiet with only his voice being heard which gave her enough room to jot down some important points from his explanation so she will find reading through the lecture note easier when she decides to read through it later.
Two hours later, the professor wrapped up the class with an assignment which they will be submitting in his next class.
"And mind you, this assignment will be part of your continuous assessment. So endeavour to do it please. See you next class". The professor finished in his usual commanding voice and left the theatre after which the students scrambled behind him to leave the venue too. Some for another class, some for the library and quite a handful straight home. She sure was among the percentage who were heading straight to the library because she had an assignment that she needed to finish up as it is due tomorrow after which she has another class until six in the evening. She could already feel the tiredness from standing for two hours creeping up from her legs and spreading through the rest of her body, but nevertheless she move.
On arriving to the library, she went straight to the reference section to get herself some books for the assignment. She spent a couple of minutes scanning through the shelves for particular book that was recommended by the professor which she couldn't find still. Deciding that it's taking her longer than usual, she walk back and drop her bag on one of the seats and headed back to the shelves to accomplish her mission.
