He stepped out of the car and came through with full confidence. He threw his head side to side and she was sure he was searching for her through the buzz of students walking to and from class.
She had seen him,but he hadn't seen her yet judging from the way his eyes were scanning the crowd like a hawk desperately looking for it's prey. To save him the stress,Amal decided to take out her phone and ring him.
She watched as he got distracted by the noise his phone made in the pocket of his pants,he stuffed his hand in his pocket to retrieve it and saw the look of recognition flashed on his face.
"Don't tell me you got tired of waiting and you've left the campus " ,he immidiately said when he answered the phone.
"Uh no on the contrary i am not to leave until 5 because i have another class. I just called to let you know I've seen you".
"And here i was thinking you've probably forgotten what i look like and have passed by me about a hundred times " he added the humour evident in his tone.
That made her chuckle or close to a laugh but she stifled it and responded.
"Not really, now look to your left I'll be waving my hand at you. If you happen to see two ladies waving their hands then you'll have to do the work of fishing out which one is Amal among them". She almost surprised herself by how she decided to play along. He chuckled lightly but she felt the rumbling vibrate through the speaker of her phone.
She watched as he turned to the direction she instructed and she emerged from the crowd of people so he could see her. Almost laughing, she waved her free hand while the other was still holding the phone to her ear.
"Seen me yet?" She questioned and the loop sided smile that graced his face gave her the answer as he approaches her.
He hung up and stuffed the phone back in his pocket. His hands stayed there and he walked in long strides to where she was standing. She felt a little self conscious by seeing him elegantly dressed in a well tailored piece of suit and a pair of black leather shoes. His face showed no sign of stress even though by what he wore one will know he came from the office. She on the other hand was dressed in a light pink ankle length dress and a black scarf wrapped around her head. Her feet were covered in a pair of grey coloured fenty puma sliders. So much for meeting a fancy well dressed guy,she thought to herself.
His grin grew wider when he reached to her, some part of him wondering whether he was possessed or encahnted. Whatever it is,it's making him act unlike him. He can't remember the last time something like this happen to him, it has been long since he feels like allowing someone get into him but here she was,in just a few days doing exactly just that.
She was dressed simply, decent and modest. Nothing fancy, her face was devoid of any makeup product if not for the trace of kohl (black eyeliner) he saw through her eyes. Not that he knows anything about make up but as far as he's concerned, if it's not heavy with dark colours, it's plain then.
"I hope i am not making you late for class or worst, miss it", he said the grin on his face growing wider showing a perfect clean white detition.
"No not at all. And i hope you're not skipping work to come see me. Not that i am worth it".
"Don't underestimate yourself Amal, but if it sets your mind at ease i am not coming from the office. Well technically but i made a stop at the orphange to finish up some work".
He replied not intending to disclose what be did at the orphanage because he didn't want it to come off as a form of show off. They found a shade took a seat on the cement built seats facing opposite of each other. She sighed feeling better now that they've sat and he looked her way with a inquisitive glance.
