^^My dog🐶^^

Oh boy, it's been a while since I updated this book. I apologize 😞. School is an evil place. But since I actually don't have homework, I was determined to write a chapter!

Like I said for my other book, (which you should totally read if you haven't...shameless promo😂) I probably won't be updating as much as I would like.

Again, I apologize.

Enjoy the chapter! ^•^

The lights in Neothia Hall are fluorescent. I dress in a bathroom on the observation floor. Im wearing a tight, black jacket, with black leather pants tucked into my boots. A black cape that wraps around my shoulders covers me almost completely. A white stripe runs down the center of it. Infrared goggles shield my eyes, and a black mask cover my face. Attached to my ear, a small earpiece. And a gun.

Just in case.

This outfit needs to make me look genderless, unidentifiable. I need to look like a dealer that's rich enough to get their hands on some disease cures.

Baekhyun would've shaken his head at me.

You can't go on a classified mission on your own, Tae. You might get hurt.

He'd always say.

How ironic...

I tighten the bronze clasp that holds my cloak in pace, then head out of the hall to the bank where I'm supposed to meet Kook.

My brother had been dead for 120 hours, now. It already feels like an eternity. Only thirty hours ago, I sent a scout to every disease infected area of the East Side. They spread the word: someone has plague medicine for you. Come to the ten-second place.

Twenty-nine hours ago, was my brothers funeral.

I don't plan on catching Kook tonight. I don't plan on seeing him at all. He'll know exactly where the ten-second place is, and that I'm either someone working for the government, or a black market dealer. He's not going to show his face. Even Commander Minho knows we won't get a glimpse of him.

But, he's going to be there.

He needs those cures desperately enough. And him showing up is all I need, to find a clue, something personal about this kid criminal.

I'm careful not to walk under the street lamps, making sure my figure stays in the shadows. I would have traveled by rooftop if I weren't going to the financial area, where guards surround all areas of the roofs. Jumbotrons surround me, showing colorful advertisements and a new updated profile of Kook. This time , it was a boy with long black hair. Next to them, streetlights highlight the silhouettes of night shift workers, police, and merchants. A tank rolls through the street every now and then, carrying soldiers from the war front. They keep guns by their side, with both hands firmly gripped on the weapon. I can't help but think about Baekhyun in uniform when I see the soldiers ride through. It takes a little more focus for  me to walk quickly and undetected.
