“Okay, Promise you’ll come soon!”

“Swee-”

“Promise!”

“We promise Tala, now go..straight to the cave and don’t come back at all!”

Upon opening my eyes I stared at the hard, cold floor that lay beneath me just another normal morning, or so I thought until I allowed my eyes to travel up and I noticed the solid metal bars in place only then did I remember what my fate had become. . . captured.

Rolling over so my back was now towards the metal bars I let out a ragged breath feeling my throat tighten and ache from the pain present, but having to relive the most painful time in my life, constantly in my nightmares were horrible and more painful than anything physically inflicted, they would always be there for eternity as that one day I lost everything. I lost my pack, my home. . . my family. But I still had my freedom, until that was taken from me by brutal beasts. To have your freedom suddenly ripped from your hands after 10 years is in itself brutal, I had spent every day being careful not venturing to far from the cave out of sheer fear of being found and taken but I just couldn’ resist could I? I just couldn’t kill that nagging feeling within that begged to venture further, that I was safe and no one would find me seen as it had been 10 years already.. what a ridiculous thing for me to ever think.

“Stupid!” I banged my head against the floor, grumbling under my breath, “Stupid.. Stupid..Stupid!” with every word I felt the solid ground connect with my skull.

“Hey, what’re you doing?”

Startled I jumped up from my laying down position and backed up into the darkest corner away from the strangers voice, however due to the fast movement I felt my head spin and throb.

“Ow...” gripping my head I lowered into a crouch position, what a even more stupid idea slamming my head against a floor..

“Are you alright?” that same voice asked causing me to growl under my breath, I refused to raise my head, never make eye contact with a stranger, especially a stranger that was a wolf, male at that as well.

“You shouldn’t be banging your head on the floor you know, its not safe at all” that voice stated as a matter of fact, who does he think he is?

“Really? Never knew that dumb ass” I grumbled inside my head, still keeping my eyes towards to the floor while wrapping my arms around my knees keeping them close to my chest.

“Im guessing you know that though right? Stupid of me to even think you wouldn’t know it, though you can never be sure some people might not know basic health and safety, I mean you could not have..learnt.. um yeah sorry..” his voice trailed off with a cough as silence crept in around us, all that could be heard were light breathing from him and my own uneven breathing. Carefully lifting my hand to my throat I gently rubbed at the soreness feeling the pain spread at the lightest touch.

“Sorry about the pain there, Zayn was way too hard with the whole throat crushing method on you” he mumbled a slightly nervous laugh echoing around the stone walls, “Im Ember by the way!” he chirped, like it was the best thing to know..
