A day passes and it's already my birthday. Even though Jimin says he's not gonna treat me like a hostage, I still feel like a prisoner. He hasn't even let me set foot outside of the mansion in a long time. I've been banned from the pool "temporarily" and the security measures are insane. Even though Jimin is a badass Mafia boss who doesn't need other people to help him win his fights and can easily flick away the enemy like flies, he still needs me to be protected when he's away on business. I'm guessing things have gotten a lot worse in the underground world, because now Jimin barely comes home and when he does, he's here to sleep or work. I haven't seen the poor man even eat once. So much has changed over the last few days. Every time I come out of my room, there are always two guards standing at my door. The people change every time. I swear, they are trying to pull a prank on me because I clearly saw two men standing outside and five minutes later they suddenly turned into women? Either my eyes deceive me or I am really tired.

As I get up, I stretch and yawn. I see a figure in front of me.
"Jimin, you're home!" I scramble out of bed, not caring about my shabby appearance or the fact that I just woke up and I'm half asleep.
"I'm going to work now, see ya," he smooths a wrinkle on his shirt and I just prop myself up with my knees. I pull down my shirt.
"It's my birthday," I say, and he stops in his tracks.
"What?"
"You heard me. No one really cares though. Everyone here is just doing their job. The soldiers don't even bat an eye when I talk to them about my day, the cooks are only here half of the time, and there are no maids so cleaning is up to me," I sigh. Jimin slowly turns around with a guilty look on his face.
"Look, I'm sorry. I'm dealing with this stupid issue involving Russia right now, I don't think even they know what they're doing and I think they are falling into the hands of a dictator so I need to figure this out," he stressed and sits on the edge of the bed. I scratch my chin.

"Ok, first of all, you should take a day off. You've been working your but off for three days already. That's enough, and as your hostage, I request this of you because I have nothing better to do with my free time," I advise him.
"Maybe you're right," I drape my arms over his shoulders and lean in to whisper in his ear.
"Besides, I think the both of us could use a nice, long, chilling break to relax and...get to know each other a little better," he shudders beneath me.
"Was that an innuendo?" He asks me.
"It can be," I wink, leaving him to his thoughts. "I'm gonna brush my teeth. Don't go anywhere," I command him and make a run for the bathroom.
I slowly sink to the floor. My heart is racing, my face is turning red. What's happening to me? Why did I talk to Jimin like that? Why is my heart reacting like this? It's gotta be a case of Stolkholm Syndrome. He's the only person who's here for me, of course it would develop! What a jerk, he probably knew this would happen. But his eyes....SNAP OUT OF IT! I wash my face and brush my teeth. I throw on a dress that is ready for me and fix my tangled hair.
"Done," I walk out of the bathroom and Jimin's eyes widen.
"You look nice," he smiles.
"You do too, when you smile. Do that more often, it calms the nerves. And Jimin, did you contact the other leaders?" I ask.
"No, but they worked twice as hard as me to find out about Russia. And now, we all are trying to figure out what happened exactly," he explains in detail. I listen closely.

"What happened was that Russia fought us and refused to surrender and then we did take over, but the government wouldn't budge. The people hated that the place was being owned by the Mafia and a lot of people left. Now, they are being controlled by a single individual who has captured the hearts of the people: Niklov Czech. He's a 13 year old boy who owns the country, but let's not get into that. Instead, let's celebrate your birthday!" He suggests and lifts me up (bridal style) and he opens the door without putting me down. We get very weird looks from the guards.

My birthday is filled with grins and giggles and the whole day is a blast. I loved today and I hope for more days like it on the future. All I know now is the feeling of what it's like to have a party with friends. The best part happens when Jimin breaks the news to me:

"We're going outside!"
