Lapis hates school. She hates it almost as much as when Steven calls her "Bob". But even that doesn't compare to the unfathomable amount of resentment she feels towards school. Specifically, high school. And no it isn't because of her grades, which, okay, she isn't doing as hot in her classes as the good old days in middle school when parabolas and the strong force didn't exist. But the main problems at hand, the ones eating her alive like some sort of corruption, relate around her, and her relationship. She's so tired of both, and yet she still manages to get by, somehow. Sometimes, though, she just wants to grab Jasper and--
"Babe!" Lapis looks up, startled, with an unsettling feeling of being snatched back into reality, unwillingly. "Oh. Hey, Jasper." Smooth, Lapis. Way to sound unenthusiastic. "Jeez, Lapis, way to sound unenthusiastic." Crap. "Sorry, I was lost in my thoughts, what's up?" Jasper could see that Lapis seemed a bit off, like she was stressed. Maybe she should ask her if she's okay, or if she needs a hug. "So the wrestling soap opera I'm watching just aired a new episode and OH MY GOD IT IS AMAZING I CAN'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED. IT WAS SO ACTION PACKED CONSIDERING ITS A SOAP OPERA. THERE WAS THIS ONE SCENE WHERE-" Well, that's one way to set Lapis off even more.
Jasper went on yelling about her show for another ten minutes until she finally asked, "Hey, you okay?" Lapis jumped, not knowing Jasper could actually be so caring. "Yeah, I mean.. Well, actually-" Jasper stopped her. "Oh we can pick this up later, Peridot wants me to walk her to class, I totally forgot! I'll see you later, Lap!" Lapis' expression dropped. "Oh, ok. By-" but Jasper was already out of sight. Great, could this day get any worse? The tardy bell rang. "OH. MY. GOD!"
