Ava's POV

My head was pounding and to be honest, it's pissing me off. So when Dawson ran into the Infirmary room with a needle in his hand I just snapped at him with a "What!?"

"Geesh. We got some medicine." When I didn't reply, he started to prepare and mock mumble to himself. " 'Wow thanks Dawson! You almost died for me? What an amazing brother!' "

"You almost died? You are so clumsy it's insane."

"Says you!" He came up to me and cleaned my upper arm with some kind of cloth, and stuck the needle through my skin. After sticking an Elmo band-aid on the small drop of blood he ran out once again, claiming he had to treat the little boy next door.

I could literally feel the medicine running through my veins. Dawson must have altered it to be more powerful. He would be a much better doctor than runner, he already basically does both anyway.

He thinks that since he has the knowledge, he should help out wether he was a doctor or not. I agree. If he had started studying to become a doctor since he got here, he would probably know just as much if not more than the doctors from before.

He's literally gotten over %100 on so many tests, he had been sought out by many schools even at his young age. But of course, the dipwit turned all of those amazing opportunities down to stay in school with me.

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but he should think about himself and his future once in a while instead of making sure everyone else was happy. Do you have any idea how many times Dawson has given something up for someone else?

Dawson bit his lip, his eyes trailing from the book fair to the gym. His tiny little grade 3 hands were wringing together while he tried to decide.

We had only ten minutes at meet-the-teacher left, and we had to choose between visiting the library for the book fair, or the gym for the student vs. teacher volleyball game.

Obviously I wanted to see the game bu, it being my favourite sport. Dawson wanted to go to the book fair because a book he's been dying to get just came out and is in that room.

"Ok, let's go." He grabbed my hand and pulled me into the gym. We even got a good view for the short amount of time we got to watch.

It might not seen like such a big deal, but he never got that book. Apparently it was rare or something, and he looked for it for another year and a half before giving up.

Abby's first ever baseball game. It was just another game to me, but this was her first year and she was somewhat nervous.

She had also assured Dawson that it was fine for him to leave for his science fair, which he had been asked to attend by many people, but he refused.

Instead of doing something well deserved, he stayed and cheered us on. He is an amazing friend, but he could have gotten a scholarship at the age of 13 if he had gone.

We didn't even win the game. Yet he gave smiles and good jobs to everyone. Abby didn't seem so upset about not winning after getting a genuine not nervous smile from Dawson.

It baffled me. How could someone care so little about themselves, yet so much about others? It's like he had all the love in the world and decided to give it to everyone and anyone but himself.

I have no shame in saying we are not similar in that sense.

Dawson came all the time to give me those shots, and I was getting a memory almost twice a day. It's like a movie of my own life is revealing itself.

"Hey!" I yelled after Carter, who had taken my phone. No way I was going to chase him though, not falling on my face again.

He stuck his tongue out at me over his shoulder, causing my eyes to roll at his childish behavior. I started towards my home with a groan.

"Wait no don't leave! Here's your phone!" I turned in time to see the black phone flying towards me. Luckily I cought it with a nasty glare.

"Would you rather... never have candy again or never have chocolate, what would you pick?" Paylie flicked a peice of paper onto the floor from her desk top.

"Definitely no chocolate."

Abby looked almost horrified by my answer. "No more chocolate? You crazy?"

"I will never live in a world without gummy bears."

Wow, way to give me a bunch of info. I haven't gotten anything useful, just me training or small pieces of life from before. In the least, they make me smile.

But I can't help but wrack my brain for something I'm missing. Something from before that they aren't telling me. Every memory that comes flooding back like a water fall I examine for any clues.

Aside from the fact that Dawson seemed a bit more nervous than usual, everything was normal. Although, Dawson could get a bit more nervous then usual for a week if Abby shot him an extra smile.

He tries.

"Did you see that?"

"The smile?"

"Yes the smile! Oh my God, do you think she knows?"

I let out a groan at his now anxious state. "No Dawson, of course she doesn't know."

Lies. Everyone knew. It was probably the most obvious thing to ever happen in all of history. I mean, how could you not notice after years of Dawson acting this way?

"Oh thank everything and everyone." He let out a sigh of relief and turned his attention back to her. She cought his gaze after a few to many moments with an amused smile.

Dawson smiled back sheepishly then turned to me. "She totally knows." Panic was in his whispers.

I just rolled my eyes and continued working on the handout. I have been telling him she doesn't know for two years and he still came to the same conclusion. It's not worth wasting my breath.
