I Wanna Know What Love Is (TFF Fanfiction)

Chapter 3

Scarlet didn't know how to react, what to say, or what to do. Keep it cool, run away, pretend she never saw him or just stand there like an idiot. The butterflies on her stomach weren't helping at all, she could feel her cheeks grow warm once again and she grew nervous. No boy, wait, scratch that, no man had ever made her feel this way. Well, she used to hang out with a few guys, and when they told her that they liked her, she kindly rejected them. She didn't know why, but the thought of someone liking her more than a friend scared her. She'd never been in a relationship, she didn't think she could handle one. So what did she know about love? Nothing. Her mind and heart were having a battle with each other. Her mind was telling her that falling in love leads to heartbreak and sorrow, her heart, however, was telling her the opposite, that love was a precious and wonderful feeling and to give it a chance. And all of this was giving her a headache.

Seeing Roland standing in front of her a few feet away wasn't helping her as well. Not only that, but he wasn't alone. In fact, the whole band was standing in front of her. And it made her even more nervous, she was sure she was about to faint. But she had to keep it cool. For her sake.

Her thoughts were interrupted by her angel-*cough* *cough* Roland's voice.

" Hey, you okay? You look kinda pale. " When she looked at him, she saw confusion and worry in his eyes, why was he worried? He barely knew her. Not only was he worried, but he had also placed his hand gently on her shoulder, his touch sent her jolts of electricity through her body, making her gasp and her eyes wide. She guessed that he felt the same thing when he suddenly pulled away, his eyes also wide and both stared at each other before quickly looking away, blushing furiously.

Scarlet, quickly cleared her throat, trying to calm down her beating heart. " Y-yeah, I'm okay. "

Great, he made her stutter.

They heard a whistle as Manny appeared next to them, smirking widely. " Wow, Roland, you just met the girl and you're already flirting with her? "

Roland scowled and rolled his eyes. " Shut up, Manny. I'm not flirting with her. "

Manny raised his eyebrows in amusement. " Yeah, say that again when you're not blushing like a tomato. " In response, Roland only covered his red face with his hands and groaned. Curt and Ian laughed while Scarlet looked away, nervously scratching the back of her neck.

Curt calmed down and sent the red-haired girl a smile. " Anyway, that was awesome what you did to those guys. " he complimented her, looking at the still passed out men.

Scarlet laughed nervously and brushed it off like it was nothing. " Thanks, nothing I can't handle. "

" Seriously, that was really cool. I don't think I've ever met anyone who can fight like that, especially a beautiful woman like yourself. " Manny winked at her, earning him a smack on the back of his head by Ian.

" Idiot, you're making her blush again. We already have Roland doing that. " the keyboardist teased, making Roland groan once again.

" Guys, please, stop, we're trying to have a friendly conversation with her, not scare her. "

" But we are having a friendly conversation, aren't we? I mean, I wasn't trying to steal your girlfriend or scare her away or anything. " Manny innocently said, ignoring the glare that was thrown at him by the dark-haired singer.

" I'm one step from punching you, so stop. "

" But I didn't do anything! "

" Don't play dumb! "

" I'm not! "

The continued to argue with each other, making Curt and Ian sign in defeat. They turned to look at Scarlet and were about to apologize, only to find her laughing. This made Roland and Manny's argument stop as the band stared at the red-head laughing, so much that she was holding her stomach. Roland had to admit, her laugh was like sweet music to his ears.

When she finally calmed down, she apologized and smiled. " I'm so sorry, it's just you guys are so funny, I mean, I just met you and already feels like I've known you for so long. It's crazy. " Hearing this, the band laughed with her.

" Yeah, usually Ian and Manny are the ones who argue a lot, but seeing Roland losing his cool was too much. " Curt laughed once again, making Roland roll his eyes, but also smile as he lightly pushed away the bassist by his shoulder.

Ian decided to change the subject. " Where are your friends? We saw you were with a couple of girls. "

She stopped laughing as realization hit her, how could she forget about her friends? The band watched as her face grew pale, panic and worry written on her face. " Holy crap, my friends! They're probably looking everywhere for me! I-I need to find them! " Acting quickly, Curt placed his hands on her shoulders, trying to calm her down. 

" Hey now, calm down, we'll help you find them. " he gave her a reassuring smile, and it made her calm as she took a deep breath. She had to admit, Curt was handsome and he had a cute smile, but his smile was more of a friendly one, one that said 'I-have-a-feeling-we're-gonna-be-great-friends'. Scarlet nodded her head and gave him a confident smile.

" Yeah, you're right. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! "

" No need to thank us! We're glad to help! "

" Anything for a pretty lady! "

" What's your name, by the way? "

" Oh, it's Scarlet, Scarlet Jones! "

Roland couldn't help but smile. ' Scarlet...that's a beautiful name. '
