I'm standing in front of the small local hospital right now with a bag of the freshest and most expensive fruits I can find in the market. I was having a little argument in my head on whether I just turn on my heel and run far away but my conscience seems to be desperately shoving courage in me to visit the monster that climbed out of hell with his bear hands. He maybe a monster but he's still hospitalized because of me. He could've went to jail or worse die because of me.
I sighed knowing this silent debate will just heat up more once I'm in front of the door to his room. I went over to the counter and asked the nurse for Myer's room. The nurse's eyes widened a bit as she eyed me from head to toe before showing me the list of patients. What's with that look she gave me? Is it really that rare for Jace to have people visit him? I mean, he at least has a family right?
I finally found his name among the list of names. "Jace Col Myer-Room 309" it says. I thanked the nurse before taking the stairs, heading to the third floor. It took awhile for me to find the alignment of numbers placed on the doors in order. I came upon the ninth door of the floor, 309. I stood there in front of the door for awhile, taking in deep breaths. The debate is starting in my head again.
I already came this far. I can't turn back now can I? It'll be a waste. I clutched the bag of fruits and took in the deepest breath yet before I reached out my hand to the knob of the door when suddenly, someone from the other side opened the door, revealing a woman. She was about my height and she looked a little bit older than my sister but still looked young and beautiful.
Her reddish brown hair was a bit long and curly while her skin had a slight tan, her round dark brown eyes were slightly red as they looked directly at mine surprised. It was quite obvious that she cried. She had those huge silver earings hanging from each earlobe while her clothes was quite revealing as her yellow shirt was pretty much like a bra while covered with a thin denim jacket and accompanied with some ripped skinny jeans. This beautiful woman must be his girlfriend, my god. He's got a nice catch. Okay now i'm sounding like a jealous lesbian.
I stuttered on my words but she smiled at me despite her obviously crying just awhile ago and decided to speak first. "You must be a friend of Jace. I was just about to leave so feel free to talk to him." Her voice sounds soothing to the ears which was surprising. Her attitude did not match her outfit at all. I half expected her to scream at me and tell me to back off from her man.
My heart then sunk once I saw Jace right there on the bed behind the woman. He wasn't looking at us but rather at a magazine on his lap. "O-oh yes, thank you, I mean um well..." The panic went right back in my head as I stumble on my words. Although, I did wonder a bit why this lady was crying while Jace was just casually reading some magazine.
"I must leave now, take your time with him." The woman said as she walked passed me and Jace finally lifted his head and his eyes widened when he saw me. I lowered my head not wanting to meet his eyes.
"Get lost. If the school sent you here for a reason, I don't want to hear it." Jace said coldly causing me to raise my head to look at him confused, only to be met with a cold glare from him. I averted my eyes immediately before I get turned to stone.
"I-I..." I bit my lower lip. His deadly glare was making it hard for me to say anything. Now I think I'm considering running away but my feet were already planted to the ground. I clutched the bag of fruits with both hands as I finally found some words to utter. "The...the school didn't uh...s-send me...so-"
"Close the door." He suddenly said as he turned his attention back at the magazine. I did as he said immediately but a bit hesitant. Now I'm all alone with the notorious Jace Myer, who beat up twelve men at the age of seventeen. (Or twenty because he does not look like a teenager.) My heart's gonna burst out my damn chest.
