As soon as the bell rang for lunch break. I threw my hood over my head and made my way to the faculty. It was a good thing I didn't have last subject with Alice and Cody so they wouldn't bug me. I didn't want any of my popular friends to bother me. I don't care about the rumors of me being a slut anymore I just don't want to be asked about how I got myself into deep shit with Jace.
Thankfully, Cody was busy with the cheer dance thing while Daniel was still under suspension which only left Alice sending me a bunch of text about how she really wanted me to talk to her about my problems and how much of a good listener she was. I just replied to her that she can't force me and ignored the rest of her texts. I kinda feel bad because I've been avoiding her since lunch break. She should understand more than anyone else besides Jerry. Knowing her she's probably just sending me tons of memes.
I asked permission to the school secretary to go straight to Jerry's office. Without taking her eyes off her computer she lazily permitted me.
Jerry was not in his office but was drinking coffee by the window, probably taking a break which was a perfect opportunity. I grabbed his arm out of no where which made him flinch a bit. "Burger Joint, now." I told him in a dead serious tone to let him know that this was not some typical puberty problems.

The shameless bastard howled in laughter after I told him what happened yesterday, or rather after I told him the part about me being forced to help take care of Jace.
"It's not funny, Jerry." I said sternly as I glared at him. Can't this guy be just a little bit worried.
He calmed down a bit as he took few gulps from his glass of water. "Oh man, you really dug your own grave this time Kat."
I let out a frustrated groan. "I hate you. You're of no help." I said coldly as I buried my face onto my sleeves on the table
"Ey now Kat, I can't really help much other than to listen, right? I mean you got yourself into this." Jerry says, still chuckling a bit. I sighed. He had a good point there, not like he could scare Jace or threaten him. The guy beat up twelve people by himself for Christ sake. But still! Jerry could help by at least comforting me instead of treating me like an idiot!
I decided not to talk as I took a sip from my iced tea, while sulking. "Ey, come now, kiddo." I ignored him still. "You're being too pessimistic about Myer. I mean sure he beat up twenty men," "twelve you old fool, twelve men," I interrupted. "but he's still a teenage boy not some kind of mafia boss." I looked up at Jerry, still sulking but not completely ignoring him. "The guy looks like he could be your age."
"Oh stop it kiddo you're embarrassing me! I don't look that young." I rolled my eyes at this bastard as I continue my sulking session.
He cleared his throat. "Anyway, there's gotta be some good in him somewhere. Not like he's made out of everything nasty. You'll be fine! Just ring me if stuff happens." I can't help but break into a smile. Damn, it's like I can face anything in the world when Jerry's behind me. "Oh wow I feel so assured to watch Jace beat the living shit out of you. How unusually brave of you."
Jerry chuckled a bit. "I'm not willing to do that but I'm always willing to call the cops for you, love." Why did I fall for this guy again?
"Fine, thanks for almost nothing." Jerry seemed taken aback and over-dramatically offended. "I sacrificed my break time for you, you ungrateful child!"
I rolled my eyes as I stood up. "Speaking of which your break's over." Jerry frantically checked the time on his phone as he swore and grabbed his coat while I calmly walked away. "Thanks for the time Jerry, I'm going to visit Jace now." Jerry was at least 15 minutes late and it' at a five minute drive from here to school, not counting the occasional traffic of course.

"What the fuck are you still doin' here?" Jace asked giving a dirty look like I was just some slut he thought he threw away a long time ago. I forced the sweetest smile I could possibly make.
I have arrived in the hospital. Jace seems completely fine. What did I even come here for?
"Let me explain...uh J-Jace..."
"Out with it. If it's about school then scram. I don't want to hear." He is clearly annoyed...
"Okay, so uh...I met your mother right? After leaving yesterday I bumped into her again!" I started to explain I was clearly nervous but I summarized the events of yesterday and said everything as fast as I could. Jace' look on me just become scarier as I went on about yesterday.
After I explained there was a moment of silence. "You're one nosy bitch aren't ya?" I flinched at his sudden insult. He is NOT happy even after offering him and his Mom some money yesterday. I thought this guy liked money?
"God...get lost. I don't need you. I'll tell Mom you come often. Now, take a hike." My eyes widened a part of me wants to agree with him but there's also a part of me that doesn't want to betray her trust. "That sounds like a great idea but, I kinda don't want to..."
"You don't want to what?" He said sternly his brows furrowed more as he narrowed his eyes on me.
"I don't want to...ya know...lie to your Mom-"
"Are you fucking kidding me? Who cares!" I fell silent. He's right me being here might only cause more problems. In the first place the payment is enough compensation. "People like you annoy the hell out of me. Looking down on people just cause you're born with a silver spoon." Something in me snapped. What the hell was his problem? Isn't normal to share your blessings? Who said I was looking down on him? He can make me piss my pants anytime!
I looked up at him with a new found courage called annoyance. "What the hell's your problem! I wasn't looking down on you! It's normal for me to give compensation-"
"Shut up! I'm not done talking!" Oh shit he's mad. Better do as he says and shut up. "I don't care if you see me as some kind of thirty year old repeater mafia boss or whatever," Oh wow, he's right on the money. "But I fucking dare you to look down on my mother like that."
"Wha- I-"
"I don't care if you helped her. But if it's out of sympathy because you see her as some slut with a toxic son-"
"Okay, hold the fucking phone!" I snapped once again. I couldn't take it anymore. I'm this close to slapping him. I don't care who the hell he is but he's crossing the line. "What are you so mad about? First of all, you're mad at me if I give you free money out of kindness and guilt? Excuse me Myer, but you threatened me for money once remember?"
He scoffed. "That was my efforts. You wouldn't give me shit if I didn't work hard to be scary. Plus, I deserve that cash since I got your phone back, princess. It's kinda like flaunting your body to that blonde pretty boy to make him your do-"
Silence...
I did it.
I lost it and I slapped him, hard.
"Daniel is NOT like that! You don't know jack shit about him and you don't know shit about me either! Don't assume all that bullshit about me when you don't know ANYTHING! For your information, you're mother is a wonderful person! And now, I have more respect for her knowing she has to put up with a good for nothing juvenile prick like you!"
With that I stormed off. I didn't hear Jace say anything in return and I wasn't gonna spend another second in that room just to hear what he has to say. People passing by had there eyes on me as I stormed off the hospital.
