A Shot in the Dark

 "CaRtOoNz, can you hear me?" Ohm asked. I tried to sit up but a sharp pain through my side held me down. Every move I made only made it hurt more. "What happened?" I asked. "I have no idea." he replied. "Where's Y/N?" I asked.  "I don't know, they must have put her in a different room." he replied. He sat on the bed across the room and leaned against the wall. "Ohm, can I ask you something?" I asked him and he looked at me. "Sure." he replied.  "How old was Y/N when she was forced to live on her own?" I asked him. "She was forced out when she was 8 years old and for about 2-3 years, our dad was secretly taking care of her until our mom found out, killing him then days later she took her her own life." he answered. I looked out the window at the night sky. The room was barely illuminated by the dim light hanging in the center. "What happened then?" I asked. "Our mothers parents took us in but chased Y/N away because of her eyes. I tried to see Y/N everyday after that but I couldn't find her anywhere. A few days later, we held the funeral for our parents and I thought Y/N was going to be there but I found out that she wasn't allowed to be there." he mentioned to me. "What about your other grandparents? Were they around to help?" I asked. "No, they passed away when we were 5 years old." he replied. "I'm sorry to hear that." I said to him. 

"After they passed away, our mothers attitude towards Y/N changed to violent. Our dad wasn't letting his only daughter go homeless so he secretly rented a one bedroom apartment for her to stay in and he kept it a secret for a few years until mom thought he was cheating on her so she followed him and then a week later was their funeral that Y/N wasn't allowed to be at." he said as he started to cry. "But that didn't stop me from being there." said Y/N as she walked into the light. "You saw me but you didn't say anything because you knew what would happen if you did." she added and Ohm ran over and pulled her into a bear hug. "Oh thank god you're OK, did they hurt you?" he asked her and she shook her head. She looked over at me and her eyes flashed red.

"You're not gonna give me a hug or tell me you missed me?" she joked. With a smile, I jumped up and ran over to her. Instead of a hug, I kissed her. "What does that tell you?" I asked her and she smiled. Moments of silence passed before we heard a noise down the hall. "I need you guys to put these jackets on, we have to go now." she said to us. We quickly put the jackets on and she motioned us to follow her. We followed her down a dark hallway away from the noise and to a random door. She opened the door and walked into what looks like a bedroom. I looked around the room and saw a woman looking over the balcony on the other side of the room. "What do we do now?" Ohm asked quietly. "Wait for it." she replied as she covered her face with a mask. Suddenly the woman vanished off the balcony. Seconds later, someone dressed in black held her still and had a hand over her mouth so she couldn't scream for help. I looked around the room and noticed more people in black. I can only see their eyes.  

"Hey boss, what's the plan?" asked the person holding the girl. Before Y/N could answer, the door swung open and Shaun entered. He rushed over to the girl but stopped in front of her. Suddenly, two men grabbed him and dropped him to his knees, covering his mouth so he couldn't scream.

"Don't you feel helpless not being able to save someone you love?" Y/N asked him and she grinned. She stood between them and laughed as tears rolled down his face. She motioned the hand away from his mouth. "What do you want?" he asked. "I want what's in the safe and revenge but give me the code to the safe first" she answered. "27-7-19, now please leave us alone." he cried. "I can't do that yet." she replied. She motioned someone to open the safe and they did as told, bringing her the contents. "Why are you doing this?" he asked in return. "We've been watching your every move and we've been hired to hurt you in anyway we please." she replied. She looked through the  stuff from the safe and found 2 guns with names on them. Suddenly she pulled out her gun and shot the girl in the leg, making her scream.

"Why did you do that?" yelled Shaun. "I wanted you to hear her scream in pain." Y/N replied calmly. "Why?" he asked. "How did you get these guns? What did you do to Natalie and Jamie?" she asked in an angry tone. "I killed Jamie and took his gun." he answered. She glared at him and waited for him to finish. "I left Natalie alive but I took the gun." he added. "Why did you do it? she asked him. "Why do you care? Who are you and why are you coming after me?" he asked. "You owe money to a friend of mine and I'm here for the money and my payback. Does that tell you who I am or are you just dumb?" she explained. 

"I don't know what you're talking about. I don't owe anyone money and I don't know you so why are you getting revenge on me?" He yelled and Y/N looked at him. Their eyes met and hers flashed red. "Y/N?" he asked. "Surprised?" she asked. "I never hurt you." he replied. Y/N pulled her gun out and shot the girl in the shoulder and the girl screamed again. "Don't you feel helpless not being able to save someone you love? How does it feel knowing that her life is going to end because of what you did?" she asked him and he shook his head as tears formed in his eyes.

"Shaun, what is she talking about? What did you do?" asked the girl. "He never told you? He murdered 2 of my  friends." Y/N replied as she glanced over at Shaun and grinned. She pushed the girl to the ground and shot her twice in the chest. She motioned her crew to let him go and watched as Shaun ran over to the girl and tried to save her but failed . Ohm and I looked at each other in horror as we watched it happen. She put her gun away, walked out to the balcony and looked over the railing. She then came back in and motioned her men to grab Shaun. "Take him outside, there is one last thing I want him to see." She demanded. As they left the room, the motioned the others to follow them. Once they left, she walked over and pulled Ohm and I into a hug. "I am so happy you guys are OK, how do you feel?" she asked.

"A little scared because of what just happened." I replied. "Why?" she asked. "We need to talk when we get home." Ohm demanded as he walked out of the room. She looked over at me as if she was expecting me to follow him. "He seems upset with you." I told her. "I know, I would be too." she replied. "You might be twins but you guys are two completely different people." I said grabbing her attention. "Why do you say that?" she asked. She walked closer and stood inches away from me with her arms crossed. "I've seen both of you kill someone and unlike you, Ohm tends to show empathy towards the victim." I replied. "Ohm was never the one for crime, it was always me." she said. "Sounds like fun." I said with a big smile and she smiled back. 

"It's always fun when there's the risk of getting caught." She replied. I pulled her into my arms and we both smiled. She pulled me into a long slow kiss and her hands on my neck. We pulled back and looked at each other. I smiled at her when eyes flared red and she smiled back. She took my hand and we left the room. We made our way outside with everyone else and they smiled when we approached them. She looked at Shaun as an evil grin grew upon her face. "Now what, boss?" asked one of her men. "Now we burn his house down and kill everyone in it." she replied. She stepped aside as she gave her men the signal to burn it down. Two of them pulled out crossbows and pulled out an arrow wrapped in cloth. They lit the arrows on fire and shot them into the house. The flames grew quickly and soon the whole house was covered in flames. She motioned one of her men to the side and gave him an order. Suddenly it was time to leave. "Boss said to leave him here." yelled one of the men. Ohm, Y/N, one of her men, and I all took the only car available  while the other split off into the surrounding area.
