Chp 8: Rivers of Blood

Video connection is established with the Ark. The Ark informs the 100 of a nearby underground depot that may serve as a winter home. Miles, Nora, Bellamy and Clarke investigate, and discover a stockpile of weapons and supplies. Dax, whom Commander Shumway is coercing to kill Bellamy, follows them. Octavia and Danny takes advantage of the camp's suffering from the effects of hallucinogenic nuts gathered as rations and frees the grounder, whose name is Lincoln. Bellamy, also hallucinating and almost killed by Dax. But Miles shoots him in the head killing Dax. Now, coming to terms with his actions, he speaks to Jaha and is pardoned in exchange for information about the assassination attempt. This leads to the arrest and imprisonment of Shumway. He is visited by Kate Sydney, and it is revealed that Jaha's assassination was her idea. Kate then has Shumway killed in his cell. At Monroe Republic, more information is dragged out of Rachel and her old friends before the black out. Clarke, Bellamy, Miles and Nora run into a group of self-governing grounder children whose parents were killed by the militia eight years ago. Miles feels responsible so he and the group makes a plan to get their healer, Nyko, who was captured by the militia and sent to a militia ship. Though they want to do it alone, some of the grounder children follow them. Clarke lets the militia capture her and becomes a conscript. She escapes with Nyko, but she is branded with the Monroe Militia symbol on her wrist. Miles, Bellamy and Nora come to her aid. Back at camp, they return to see Raven, Aaron, Finn and Lydia getting people to not eat anymore of the nuts, the grounder children went with Nyko back to their village and he thanks the sky people and Miles, Aaron's pendant randomly starts working, lighting up the dropship and the radio, he shows Raven the pendant. Back at Monroe Republic, Philadelphia, one of Rachel's old coworkers, Dr. Bradley, is captured because of his knowledge of the blackout thanks to the information Rachel provided. His daughter is hurt and captured, to force him to reveal all he knows about the blackout, including the location of his pendant. The 100 asks Aaron for an explanation about the radio and dropship and he is forced to reveal the existence and power of the pendant to everyone. Elsewhere, Grace is being held captive by Randall.

Flashback: Before the blackout, Ben Matheson was the head of a small startup technology company that Rachel and Grace worked for trying to create renewable free green energy, however couple of hundred quadrillion programmed to absorb electricity and replicate, thereby disabling all man made forms of electricity in a localized area causing the blackout and devastated the surface of Earth. Ben demonstrates this to Randall, the Assistant Secretary of the United States Department of Defense, Randall, seeing its potential as a weapon, promised them a contract to experiment further, but Rachel has reservations about the experiment being weaponized. Ben is insistent on accepting Randall's offer since the company will go bankrupt in less than a month if they do otherwise. Rachel still has doubts but the son she's expecting is gravely ill, and Randall offers her a chance to enter a maxed out medical program that may save him. End of Flashback
