I was in my old room again. But I didn't remember coming here. I got distracted by loud voices. I ran out of my room and went downstairs and saw Papa bleeding on the floor.
I quickly knelt down and began to find the source for the blood. With shaky hands I tried to apply pressure to where his heart is but the blood kept on coming out.
"Papa No! Stay with me please! Don't leave me."
I begged him again and again but he only looked back at me with a blank expression and muttered the word 'sorry'.
I jolted awake. I was dreaming. But I've started to get used to it since I have constantly been dreaming the same thing for awhile. And every time it left me wide awake.
After lying in bed for awhile in hopes of falling asleep again, I decided to go outside. I tiptoed down the staircase and opened the main door as quietly as I possible could and managed to slip out into the cold night.
I made my way to the garden and sat down on one of the benched with my feet up. I looked up to the stars and imagined myself looking up to the same sky a couple of months ago. Everything changed so drastically. But I keep reminding myself it could have been worse. If Uncle Will had not found me, I probably would have been living in a orphanage or maybe not even there.
I owe him a lot.
'But it's me who is in debt to you Ella. To you and to Adam.'
Uncle William's words ring inside my head and they brought sadness in my heart at the mention of Papa. It's weird that even his name triggers tears and starts to suffocate me.
Traces of light began to appear in the sky. It was oddly serene at this time. A few birds could be heard. It was just me and mother nature but a movement behind me snapped me out of my reverie. I looked back but I saw no one.
Feeling freaked out, I got up from the bench and walked a few steps towards the house when I saw a shadow of a figure and froze.
Gathering up all the courage I had in me, I spoke directly to the person, "Who's t-there?"
But my shaking voice gave my fear away."Oh my god." I whispered to myself. Who in their right mind would be up at this hour? What if it's a thief?
The shadow came closer and appeared to be wearing a hood.
He kept on walking towards me and I started taking small steps back. I kept on glancing between him and the house.
"Burglar... burglar!" I shouted in hopes that someone might come to my rescue.
The guy looked behind him and than to me.
I shouted again and once he realised I'll only get louder, he did the complete opposite of what I thought he would.Instead of running to the exit, he came towards me and quickly covered my mouth with his hand.
"Who the hell do you think you're calling a thief?"
His voice startled me. I kept on staring into his eyes which appeared to be of a really dark shade. His scent was intoxicating as it filled my nose.
"I live here! This is my house. So who the fuck are you?"
His voice was heavy and filled with anger. It chilled my spine. After gaining some kind of conciousness of what kind of situation I was in, I bit his hand which made him yelp and let go of me.Without wasting a second, I bolted towards the door and ran straight to my room and locking the door behind me.
"What the hell just happened?"
