After my extremely awkward encounter with Daniel, I stayed in my room until Diana came to call me for dinner.

Dinner was even more awkward. I tried to avoid Daniel at all cost but it was really difficult when he chose to sit next to me. I mean he could have just sat opposite to me or next to Diana.

And to my utmost frustration, he kept on asking me to pass him things even though they were within his reach.

"Can you pass me the salt."

"On second thought, I'd like the pepper too."

"Can you pour me some water?"

I swear I was really close to telling him to shut the fuck up but because of Uncle Will I kept my mouth shut and obediently passed him everything. And that son of bitch had the audacity to snicker when he asked me to hand him something for the fifth or sixth time.

When I finally got in bed to call it a night, all sleep had abandoned me.

Everything that happened a month ago came back to me. It felt good to fret over something else for awhile but now that it was all back, I felt frustrated once more. After tossing and turning for an hour or so, I got up and went to my bedroom window and sat in front of it. Although the view as impressive as the one I got from Daniel's but it was still really beautiful. I could see parts of the rose garden and the delicately trimmed hedges that surrounded the entire green area of the estate. I looked towards the sky and stared at the moon. I usually did that when I wanted to think or just clear my head.

I still couldn't believe this was the same moon I saw when my father was still alive. It felt like everything changed in just a blink of an eye. I put my head against the wall but continued to look outside and slowly fell into into a deep slumber.

I'm standing on the staircase of my house. And I hear a gunshot. I run towards the sound of it and rush to the lounge. Dad is kneeling on the ground and he's staring at something. I try to look for the bodies of Oliver and Mom but they are no where in sight.

"Dad?" I call out. He looks up at me and smiles.

"Ella... my darling. I'm s-sorry."

"About what?" I ask kneeling down to him on the wooden floor.

"Please forgive me Ella." A tear escaped his eye.

"Dad,  I don't get what you're saying?" I raise my hand to wipe it but he moves back and gets up.

At first I felt a pang of hurt because he never pushed away from me like that. I get up and as I'm about to ask him something, my eyes fall on the gun which appeared out of no where in his hand.

He keeps on moving back and starts repeating that he's sorry. When he starts raising the gun to his temple, I start screaming.

"Dad no! Please don't do this! I'm begging you Dad please!"

"I'm so sorry."

"Dad no! Please no!"

"Ella..."

"DAD!"

I'm jolted awake and I see Uncle Will and Diana shaking me. A look of relief washes over their faces when they see me awake. From the corner of my eye I spot Daniel standing in the door away.

"Ella are you alright? Was it a nightmare?"

"Y-yea. I'm sorry if I disturbed you."

"Nonsense! We were so worried. Are you sure you're alright dear?"
