one,

hwasa:

hwasa's mother had always been supportive of every one of her decisions. had it been to drop out of a certain class or pursue an extracurricular activity, hwasa's mother was ready to support her in anything that she did, and was successful in. this is partially why hwasa is the way she is. she gets her way most of the time. but now, she feels like yet another chess piece in the world's deadly game. it's a go-with the flow kind of industry, meaning that the river would undoubtably batter its passengers into it's banks, and they would have to keep smiling.

only dead fish go with the flow, hwasa thinks. but what she thinks doesn't matter here. she only has herself to hold onto, only has herself to talk to. it's so lonely. hwasa's not alone, but she's alone in her head, where everything has been silenced with a muffler. people seem distant, or maybe she's just far away. she doesn't hear her stomach growl all throughout dance practice, doesn't hear the sound of her chin hitting the floor under her. people are saying she's distracted, she's seen the conspiracy theories under the first search of her name.

people are saying she's deaf to the real world, but hwasa can only hear someone who is calling out her name. the call comes from within, from somewhere deep inside her soul, the place where she's still alive and fighting. sometimes, she can't understand the words, but she knows what it means. it pulls, and pulls, wraps it's arms around her and tugs her to come back home. but home, where? hwasa doesn't have a home. but it pulls nonetheless. it's everywhere, carving her out until she feels empty, but full of the deafening silence that's waiting to be filled. hwasa can't focus on anything else but that, the gnawing pain inside of her. and she knows what it's calling for, what it wants. it wants to be loved. it wants to be held.

she misses wheein's tired voice, where she rants about her day, her eccentric instagram posts that hwasa can only stalk through fake fan accounts. she imagines a day where she can like her posts on her real instagram, and can call wheein whenever she likes. maybe, even visit her.

but she knows it's never going to happen. even though hwasa's an optimist, optimisim isn't an option on this. how stupid was she to get her hopes up, even to dream of it.

deep inside her, though, she listens to that call.

two,

wheein

wheein is beginning to feel a little more alive, a little less empty, because something is pulling at her chest. it's closing in on five in the morning, wheein having stayed awake to study for a useless exam, and she's staring hopelessly at her computer screen, an episode of f.r.i.e.n.d.s. and as the theme song floats across the screen, so no one told you life was gonna be this way, a notification pops up on the side of the computer.
News! DYSMB promotes newly announced fanmeet dates!
wheein chuckles softly before clicking it, hoping to slide it away. instead, it takes her to the DYSMB official website. "huh." she muses, "it's pretty cheap. i wonder if-" she gets her phone out to text wendy.

wheein feels crazily impulsive. she hasn't just decided to go somewhere in what seems like ages. but she's going to see her soulmate. only fate can really decide what will happen in that moment. and till then, she'll have to wait.
