We waited anxiously for them to come back, but it must've been at least 2 hours before both of the jeeps came rumbling back. And with them, was Warren climbing out before the jeeps drove off again.
"We got to get out of here." She said.
"I know. I saw the bear."
"That's not the problem."
"I knew something was off. Where's Addy?" I asked, worried. She's been acting a little strange since we met back up with her and Mack and I'm a scared that she's gonna do something drastic.
"If a zombie bear isn't the problem, what is?" Doc asked.
Warren gave me and Mack a look. "I need to see her." Mack demanded.
Warren shook her head. "She's in a weird place. I've been there. It's not gonna be easy to get her back."
Mack crossed his arms and shrugged his shoulders. "Well it's fine but I'm not leaving here without her."
"Me neither. We have to get her back." I voiced up. There's no way I'm leaving my best friend behind again. If we did, we might not get to see her again.
Warren sighed. "You guys just get ready. I'll do my best to get her out. But you may have a choice to make." She said, her eyes on Mack.
And with that, we set to work on putting all of our stuff back into the truck. Except for Doc, as he continued to eat the rest of the pie. Warren had walked back to the Sisters of Mercy and we worked in silence until footsteps could be heard and Addy walked up.
"Addy?" I was kind of surprised that she even came to see us.
"Hey." She smiled but I knew instantly something was wrong. Her smile seemed fake and her voice was not like her.
"Hey." Mack said with a smile and jogged up to her.
I stayed in my spot next to 10k so I couldn't hear what was being said between the two. They walked off and continued to talk. 10k and I shared a look before looking at Doc. He hurriedly scoffed down the rest of the pie and helped grab some more stuff. "Where's Murphy? We need the tent."
"Uh, he's still in it with that girl." 10k said, turning to look back at said tent. I scrunched up my nose at the thought of what could possibly be going on in there.
"She's still in there?" Doc said, shocked.
10k nodded his head, a certain look on his face that made me whack him upside the head. He reached to the back of his and groaned. "Ow! What was that for?"
Instead of answering him, I just walked away and grabbed some more of our stuff.
Mack stormed up to me. "Come on. Grab your gun. We're getting Addy back."
I nodded and grabbed my rifle.
While the others were distracted, we made our way back to the camp. Just in time to see a guy cover in blood and attached to a chain holding the pie girl captive with a gun to her head. "I'm a real quick trigger." He said. "You shoot me, she's dead before I hit the ground. Five. Four. Three. Two."
