"Nigga we made it!" - Soulja Boy...
A wise man once said, “We can’t change the world unless we change ourselves.” Rest in peace to Biggie. (crowd laughter) We’ve come a long way to make it to where we are today. I remember our first day of freshman year. Everyone looked absolutely terrified! And some of you looked a hot mess, so you’ve defiantly come a long way. As we sit here today, I see future business owners, lawyers, football players, etc, and I’m proud of every single one of you. Senior year wasn’t as easy as others made it seem like. We’ve been through fights, multiple changes, the departure of one of our favorite teachers, tests, and multiple, tiring, college essays. But we can’t forget the good. I’ve seen friendships build and realized how much we all genuinely care for one another. So, this isn’t the end. This is just the beginning of our futures. Congratulations to the class of 2015!
“With that said…will the class of 2015 please stand. The time has come for the departure of these hardworking students. Audience, please congratulate our graduating class.”
After I sat down from my speech and was applauded by the audience, reality hit me. I am now a high school graduate and I’m on my way to college. Howard University here I come! I hope they’re ready for me.
