Chapter 9: Sadie Johnson

"Clink, clink, clink, clink."
      Okay, here she comes. I stood silently in a corner waiting for her to enter. I heard Drew inhale sharply, he knew she was coming, too.

        "Look a little more asleep, please." I whispered to Drew, and he slumped a little more.

         I took a deep breath and whispered to myself, "Okay, you got this."

"Clink, clink, clink, clink, clink." The sound kept getting louder and louder until, boom. There she was. The dracane. I stood as still and as quiet as I could.

She kept walking so she was right in front of you. Then she did something I didn't know dracanes could do. She screamed so loud and so high pitched that Drew, right away, set up and put his hands to his ears, eyes squeezed shut.

I covered my ears, because, well, it hurt. But not as bad as it must have hurt for Drew, since I grew up in a big city and he did not.

'Okay, I guess this is it,' I thought.

I remembered what my mom always said, "Fight for the things you believe in."

I looked at Drew, and began the plan.
